"Superstar's Third Album Coming Next Month!"

It has been a period of three years since Billie Eilish has put out a new album, however, fans should be thrilled to hear that the waiting game is finally over. On May 17th, Hit Me Hard and Soft will be released for everyone to listen to.

Eilish can be seen submerged in water on the album cover with no shoes and slowly sinking underneath a white wooden door. It remains uncertain whether Eilish intends to put out a single as the release of "Hit Me Hard and Soft" suggests that it should be experienced as a complete piece. The album is designed to be a unified work of art.

Eilish had been hinting at new music on her Instagram for days, posting mysterious pictures and words to her close friends feature. One picture showed part of her album title tattooed on her skin, while another gave a glimpse of the album cover. Hit Me Hard and Soft is Eilish's third album, following her successful 2021 release, Happier Than Ever, and her debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? In February, Eilish announced on social media that the follow-up to Happier Than Ever was mastered. In 2023, she confirmed during an interview with The Cookout that she was working on a new album. “Lots of music is coming," she said. "We're putting the finishing touches on it, so it's exciting news, but it doesn't mean it will be released anytime soon."

Although it has been three years since Eilish released a full-length album, she has released new music since the release of Happier Than Ever. In 2022, she surprised her fans by releasing the EP Guitar Songs, which included two songs called “TV” and “The 30th”. Furthermore, in the previous year, she contributed the emotional track “What Was I Made For?” to the Barbie soundtrack, which became an immense success. The touching ballad won her the prestigious Song of the Year Award at the 2024 Grammys and also took home the Best Original Song Award at the Academy Awards. This incredible achievement made her the youngest person to ever win two Oscars. Eilish and Finneas previously won an Oscar in 2021 for the James Bond theme “No Time to Die”.
