Billie Eilish and her sibling Finneas O'Connell have earned themselves a remarkable achievement in becoming the youngest duo in history to snag not only one, but two Academy Awards. Billie was aged merely 22 and Finneas at 26 when they both won in the Best Original Song category for their exceptional work.

During the Oscars ceremony on Sunday, Finneas O'Connell and Billie Eilish were presented with the best original song award for "What Was I Made For?" from the movie "Barbie".

Eilish and O'Connell were awarded the Oscar for Best Original Song for their work on the song "What Was I Made For?" which features in the movie "Barbie". This marks the second time the duo have won in this category.

The two people who write songs together had previously received an award for the song titled "No Time To Die" only two years ago. This made Eilish the second youngest person to win in this category because she was only 20 years old at the time.

The song "What Was I Made For?" emerged as the winner, surpassing four other nominees, namely "I'm Just Ken" from "Barbie," "It Never Went Away" from "American Symphony," "Flamin' Hot" from "The Fire Inside," and "Wahzhazhe (A Song for My People)" from "Killers of the Flower Moon."

During the event, Eilish and O'Connell, along with the other nominees for Best Original Song, presented a performance of their song, "What Was I Made For?"

Prior to Eilish and O'Connell's historic win, there were only three individuals who had received two Academy Awards by the age of 30. These individuals were all women, and they had received their awards specifically in the Best Actress category. Luise Rainer was the first person to achieve this feat, winning back-to-back Oscars in 1937 and 1938 for her roles in "The Great Zigfeld" and "The Good Earth" respectively. She won her second Oscar at the age of 28. After her, Jodie Foster became the second person to receive two Oscars before the age of 30, winning in 1989 for "The Accused" at 26 and "The Silence of the Lambs" in 1992 at age 29. Lastly, Hilary Swank won her two Oscars in 2000 for "Boys Don't Cry" and 2005 for "Million Dollar Baby," achieving her second win at the age of 30.

At the Grammys held last February, Eilish and O’Connell’s hit track “What Was I Made For?” achieved significant recognition by bagging both the Song of the Year and Best Song Written for Visual Media awards. Moreover, the song proved to be a financial triumph, amassing over 700 million listens on Spotify.

In 2022, Eilish made history by becoming the inaugural individual born in the 21st century to receive an Academy Award after winning her first Oscar.
