Billie Eilish, who has won two Oscars so far, is all set to release her latest music next month. At Coachella this year, she surprised the audience by giving a sneak peek of her new song, 'Lunch.' Everyone is eagerly awaiting the release.

On the song, she says "I feel like devouring that girl for lunch / Her moves on my taste buds are so captivating / It's like she could be the perfect match for me." The lyrics seem to be about her sexuality, specifically her queerness. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Billie opened up about her own journey of coming out. She also spoke about her newest album, HIT ME HARD AND SOFT.

Billie expressed that 'Lunch' was significant in shaping her true self. She shared that she composed portions of the song before having any romantic experiences with girls, and the remainder of it afterward. Although she had always been attracted to girls, it wasn't until last year that she came to the realization that she wanted to engage in intimate activities with them. Initially, she never intended on publicly discussing her sexuality, and it bothers her how it was brought to light.

Throughout her professional journey, Billie has kept her romantic life private (let's not forget that public figures don't owe us a look into their personal lives, thank you very much). In November 2023, she opened up about her feelings towards women in Variety's Power of Women issue. Billie expressed her admiration towards them, saying that she is attracted to them as individuals, not only physically but also emotionally. She further added that she shares deep connections with the women in her life, be it her friends or family, but at the same time, their beauty and presence intimidate her.

During the Hitmakers event hosted by Variety a month later, the singer of "What Was I Made For?" confessed that she did not plan on revealing her sexuality during her first interview. "I assumed it was obvious," she stated. "I didn't understand that people were unaware of it. Personally, I don't see the need for it. Can't we just exist without labels? I have been in this industry for a while and I never discussed it before. Oops!" she laughed as she walked the red carpet.

Following the occasion, she shared a post on Instagram and took a swipe at the publishing company in the accompanying caption. She expressed her gratitude for receiving an award from Variety, while also criticizing them for choosing to bring up her sexual orientation on the red carpet. She felt that there were more important topics to discuss, and didn't appreciate the unwarranted attention. She also took the opportunity to promote her latest song, "what was i made for." However, upon further contemplation, she acknowledged that her response was disproportionate to the situation.

During her interview with Rolling Stone, she explained that she didn't have a say in how the world perceived her. She believes that nobody should feel obligated to fit into a certain label and that people should take their time to figure out their true selves. Some people don't feel comfortable with their sexuality until much later in life, and it's unfair that the internet pushes individuals to define themselves prematurely. Being bullied into revealing personal information about oneself is unreasonable and unacceptable.

Billie said that she understands many people have had this opinion of her for a long time, but she is only starting to understand herself now. She also stated that the comment she made was humorous because she merely spoke what others have been saying.
