Singer's Candid Rolling Stone Interview, New Album "Hit Me Hard And Soft" Release

If you didn't catch it, which is unlikely, Rolling Stone just featured an interview with Billie Eilish on their cover. She discussed a variety of topics, such as her sexual orientation, how she uses sex to unwind, how pleasuring oneself can be helpful, and her phobia of whales. The main focus was going to be on her fear of whales, but it turns out that sex sells better than large sea creatures. It's surprising, isn't it?

Eilish recently did a cover shoot as part of the promotion for her upcoming album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, which is set to be released on May 17th. The album contains some explicit content, as evident in tracks like "Lunch", where Eilish describes sex as similar to "devouring a meal". During an interview, the singer openly admits to being very vocal about sex as it is her favourite topic. Unfortunately, she notes that people tend to get uncomfortable when women are open about their sexuality. She believes that this negative perception of discussing sex should change.

The writer delves into a sensitive topic that's often considered inappropriate to discuss, especially for women, which is self-pleasure or masturbation. She admits that it's a significant aspect of her life and has proven to be a valuable coping mechanism for her. She strongly believes that everyone should engage in it because it can be beneficial for individuals dealing with body image issues and dysmorphia, just like herself.

To take things up a notch, Eilish mentioned that she enjoys pleasuring herself while looking at her reflection. She explained that this not only turns her on, but it also helps her forge a stronger, more intimate bond with her body. Engaging in this activity has taught her to love her body in a way she never previously experienced.

Regarding her sexual orientation, she mentions that creating the book "Lunch" was a contributing factor to her current identity. She clarified, "I wrote a portion of it before having any romantic encounters with women, then finished the rest after." She has had feelings for women since she can remember, but it wasn't until last year that she comprehended her desire to engage in oral sex with a vulva.

Despite her quote, it may surprise you to know that she never intended to discuss her sexuality "ever, in a million years." However, in 2023, Eilish criticized Variety for exposing her sexuality at a red carpet event. She wrote on Instagram, "I like both boys and girls, please leave me alone about it, who cares." In retrospect, she thinks the post was an overreaction, but she still thinks that the question was invasive. "Who cares?" she asks. "Suddenly the entire world decided who I was, and I had no say in any of it. Nobody should feel pressured to be one way or another, and I believe that there is far too much emphasis on labels."

In another section of the interview with Rolling Stone, Eilish talks about how she has an urge to frequently reveal more information than necessary. She also talks about her attempts to protect the environment and, of course, her latest musical creations. And then, the topic shifts to the misconceptions about whales and how they intimidate her because of their sheer size and the sounds they produce. The complete interview can be found here.
