Thiago Silva

Thiago Silva is set to depart from Chelsea after serving four years with the club, marking the end of the 2023/24 season.

Ever since joining the team for zero transfer fees in August 2020, Thiago has successfully participated in 151 matches for the Blues. Furthermore, he has achieved significant victories including winning the Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, and the UEFA Super Cup.

Thiago has conveyed this communication to his fans...

Chelsea holds a special place in my heart. I initially planned on staying here for just one year, but it turned out to be four instead. And it wasn't just me who was impacted, but my family as well.

It brings me immense joy and a sense of belonging to be a member of the Chelsea family through my sons who play for the team. I am excited to see them progress and hopefully remain at this esteemed club that attracts many talented players.

Throughout my four-year journey, I put in a tremendous amount of effort into everything I undertook. However, every good thing must eventually come to an end. Nevertheless, this doesn't have to mean it's over for good. I'm hopeful that there's potential for me to return in a different capacity sometime in the future.

However, words fall short in expressing the immense love that I feel. Therefore, my gratitude is all that I can convey - Thank you.

When I first came here, it was in the middle of the pandemic which meant that there weren't any supporters in attendance at the stadium. However, through the use of social media, it really became an unforgettable experience for me. As life slowly returned to normal and the fans began to return to the stadium, I developed a strong fondness and admiration for my journey and how I got my start here.

Parting ways can be difficult, especially when there is a deep affection shared between two individuals. However, once you become a part of the Blue community, you will always remain a member.

I arrived at the club with the help of their support and over time, I was able to assume a leadership role despite feeling like a newcomer. It can be challenging to join a new group, but thanks to the efforts of Frank Lampard and others, I was able to become a valued member. I appreciate Lampard's contributions to my integration into the club.

It has always been a dream of mine, a dream beyond my imagination. Winning one of the most prestigious titles in my profession, the Champions League, at one of the top-rated clubs globally, is indeed a remarkable achievement.

Farewells are meant for people who depart and never return. I have every intention of returning someday...
