Billie Eilish Says She’s “Physically Attracted to” But Also “Intimidated by” Women

Billie Eilish

During a recent interview with Variety, Billie Eilish openly discussed her views on women.

The singer who won a Grammy award has been under a great deal of pressure regarding her sexuality for quite some time. Recently, she candidly discussed her feelings of being drawn to women as well as feeling frightened by them. She has difficulty understanding the concept of femininity which makes it even more of a challenge for her.

She admitted to the source that she hasn't always found it easy to connect with girls. Despite this, she has a deep affection for them and sees their inner qualities. As a matter of fact, she is genuine when she says that her attraction to women is genuine.

She went on to say, "Women hold a significant place in my heart - my female friends, my family members, and the like. I find them attractive in every aspect, and yet I am also intimidated by their stunning beauty and powerful presence."

According to Them, Eilish has faced allegations of "queerbaiting" before. This phrase means that creators might suggest a character's sexuality to appeal to LGBTQ+ viewers, without actually discussing or acknowledging their queerness in a meaningful way.

In another part of the interview, Eilish talked about her challenging connection with her physique that unfortunately received undeserved public scrutiny for years. The artist's well-known fashion choices for formal events often involve loose or large garments that draw unwanted attention to her physical appearance. This issue is something she addressed before.

She expressed, "I didn't intend to stop individuals from sexualizing me. What I meant was that I didn't want people to ogle at my body. I lacked the emotional strength and confidence to expose it. If I had revealed it then, I would have been utterly crushed if anyone criticized me."

Eilish took time to think about how her self-perception has influenced her response to being objectified by the public. She shared that her lack of concern about being sexualized could stem from never feeling attractive or desired herself. She admitted that she has never fully felt like a woman or felt feminine, and that she often has to work at convincing herself that she is pretty. Eilish does identify as "she/her," but she has struggled with feeling like a girl.

The vocalist expressed her frustration with the unwanted focus on her natural physique. From a very young age, she has had sizable breasts, and she does not intend to change her appearance to please others. She finds it upsetting that any outfit she wears that reveals her body can cause people to sexualize her, despite not wanting that kind of attention. She expressed her resentment towards those who continue to subjectify her, stating that she is only human and sometimes does feel sexual but that doesn't give them a license to objectify her.

It's clear that there are different rules for men. She highlights that men's bodies are never criticized. It's acceptable to be muscular or not, thin or have a dad bod, or even be pudgy. Everyone is content with it because women are kind. They don't care about appearances because they value people for who they truly are.
