During a recent interview, Billie Eilish made a revelation about her attraction towards women, which surprised her as she thought it was already common knowledge.

The 21-year-old American singer mentioned in her interview with Variety that she finds it difficult to connect with other women, despite having feelings of love and attraction towards them.

During the Variety's Hitmakers event on December 2nd, a reporter questioned her regarding her statement made on the red carpet. They asked if she intended to declare her sexual orientation publicly.

She replied, "No, I didn't, but I sort of assumed... wasn't it clear?" "I simply wasn't aware that individuals were unaware."

She stated that she isn't a fan of the idea of publicly announcing one's sexual orientation. "I don't really buy into it...why can't we just be who we are? I've been living like this for quite some time and I never felt the need to mention it...oops."

When she was asked about the response to her statement, the singer of "Bad Guy" replied, "I read all of the news stories and I thought to myself, 'Oh, I suppose I made my announcement today... that's fine.'"

"I find it exciting because it seems like some people were unaware, but now they are aware. It's great to see people acknowledge that I support women."

On the 3rd of December, Eilish expressed her annoyance towards the red carpet interviews through a post on Instagram. She showed gratitude towards Variety for presenting her with an award but felt that the focus should have been on other important topics. Instead, the focus was on her sexuality. Eilish made it clear that she likes both boys and girls and urged everyone to leave her alone about it. She even questioned why people are so concerned about such matters and requested them to stream her track "what was i made for".

The picture that was displayed seemed to depict her sitting on a toilet while her pants were down, revealing her belt buckle with two dark outlines edging closer to each other.

In another part of the original Variety interview, Eilish talked about her complicated connection to being a woman. She also discussed how this was influenced by the intense response to her song "What Was I Made For," which was made for the Barbie movie soundtrack.

Following the launch of the movie, the part that highlighted the tune "What Was I Made For" triggered a TikTok craze that involved video compilations accompanied by the same melody. Women shared their personal accounts of growing up during the trend.

Eilish spoke about the trend, expressing how emotional it was, and then talked about the music video. In the video, she opens a box containing miniature versions of her most recognizable outfits, which include large T-shirts and shorts.

According to Eilish, the images were inspired by her wish to stay in control of her own body: "I didn't want people to be able to see my body, not even through visuals. I wasn't confident enough or emotionally strong enough to display it. If I had shown it back then, any negative comments would have really hurt me."

"Perhaps my lack of concern about being objectified is due to never experiencing the feeling of being wanted or attractive," she went on to say.

To tell the truth, I never felt as if I identified with being a woman. I never thought of myself as attractive or feminine. I have to remind myself that I am a good-looking girl. I do use "she/her" pronouns, but I never really felt like a female.

In the past, Eilish talked about the huge attention that the media gave to her body when she became famous at only 17 years old, after releasing her highly successful song "Bad Guy".

In Miami, at the initial gig of her 2020 global tour, she presented a video that was displayed on the colossal screens at the location.

In the video, Eilish was seen taking off many pieces of clothing until she was only wearing a bra. Then, she plunged under the water.

"I receive feedback on my viewpoints, music, apparel, and physical appearance," stated a recording of her voice.

There are individuals who dislike the clothes I put on, while others give me compliments for it. Unfortunately, some use my outfit as a way to humiliate others or even make fun of me. Nonetheless, I am aware of your attention on me.

Do you want me to be tinier? Frailer? Gentler? Higher? Do you want me to stay calm? Do my shoulders bother you? Does my chest? Am I my belly? Or my hips?

Eilish kept talking about how she gets contradictory opinions about her physique, and said: "The physique that I came into the world with - is that not what you hoped for? If I wear clothes that make me feel cozy, you say I'm not feminine enough. If I wear clothes that show off my skin, you label me as promiscuous. Even though you haven't seen my figure, you're still quick to criticize it, and judge me for it. What's the reason for this?"

When interviewed by Variety, Eilish expressed that she has large breasts and has had them since she was nine years old. She explained that this is just a part of who she is and how she looks. Eilish finds it frustrating when she wears something even the slightest bit revealing and people jump to sexualizing her. She believes that she is an individual who can be sexual at times and doesn't appreciate when people try to control that aspect of her. Her response to those people is a blunt and angry "F*** you!"

Eilish might receive a few awards at the upcoming Grammys. She has been nominated for Record of the Year and Song of the Year with her hit track "What Was I Made For". Additionally, she is highly anticipated to earn the Best Song nomination at the Oscars for her part in the Barbie soundtrack.
