As The Masters heads into its final round, Scottie Scheffler is in the lead by one shot. However, his wife Meredith is about to have their first child in a few weeks. So, Scheffler has made it clear that he will leave right away if needed.

On Sunday, the 2021 champion Scheffler will be part of the last group alongside Collin Morikawa, who is ranked as the number one player in the world. They are both vying for the opportunity to win a second Masters title.

Two years ago, Scheffler was accompanied by his spouse Meredith as he geared up for the concluding round. However, this time, the 27-year-old is confronted with a distinctive circumstance.

Meredith will monitor the final day from their abode in Texas since they are anticipating the arrival of their initial offspring.

As Sunday approached in 2022, Scheffler and Meredith were feeling slightly sentimental about the events that were unfolding at that moment. Their lives were rapidly changing and it was a bit overwhelming. However, they have now adjusted to their new circumstances and are content with their current situation. The most thrilling thing for them at the moment is not their triumph at the Masters, but the upcoming arrival of their baby.

Even though Scottie's wife isn't expected to give birth until later this month, he mentioned that she's taking it easy. He also acknowledged that if he receives a call about her going into labor, it will be crucial, regardless of whether he's leading the race at that point.

"I have to head back if she gives me a call while I'm on the 17th," he informed ESPN earlier this week.

Meredith was an important member of Scheffler's team during the Par 3 family day in 2022 and 2023, serving as his caddie. Scheffler has mentioned that she is gaining knowledge about golf while spending time with him, despite not being a fan of the sport before.

"It's going to be quite an adventure. I think neither of us fully grasps the situation yet, but we're thrilled as a family," Scheffer expressed to Golf Digest. "The past seven months have been full of excitement, and we're hopeful that the delivery goes smoothly for both the baby and the mother. After that, we'll just take it one step at a time."

In the same way, Sam Burns was expecting his first child with his wife Caroline and was waiting for the birth during the week. However, Burns was unable to qualify for the next round and departed instantly from Augusta to meet with his wife. Scheffler and Burns had been residing together in a house, which put Scheffler in a difficult situation to decide given the circumstances.

"I wanted some company at home, so I invited some friends who were in the neighborhood," he explained. "Now, a couple of my good pals are staying over with me. This morning, we had breakfast together and just chilled before I had to come to the course. And that's what we'll be doing more of tomorrow."
