Jonathan Majors has been convicted of attacking his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.

On Monday, a jury in Manhattan found Marvel actor, aged 34, guilty of third-degree assault and harassment charges. However, he was cleared of an additional charge of assault and one aggravated harassment count.

Majors got apprehended in March in New York for an alleged instance of physical assault against Ms Jabbari. She claimed that he slapped and pushed her into the car before twisting her arm and hurting her hand.

In the past, he argued that he did not commit the crimes of minor physical assault, severe verbal harassment, attempted physical attack, and constant unwanted attention.

After a trial that lasted for 10 days, where both the driver of the car and Ms Jabbari gave testimony, the verdict of being guilty was given on Monday at almost 3pm. It took around five hours of deliberations to come to this decision.

He could potentially be sentenced to up to a year behind bars.

According to an individual who has knowledge of the situation, Marvel Studios dismissed Majors following the conviction.

Alvin Bragg, who holds the position of Manhattan District Attorney, mentioned in a written statement that the evidence brought forth during the trial highlighted a recurring cycle of mistreatment and emotional manipulation that gradually grew more severe over time.

Jonathan Majors has been convicted of attacking his former partner.

Mr. Bragg expressed gratitude to the jury for fulfilling their duties and also extended appreciation to the survivor for her courage in narrating her story, despite the pain of reliving the trauma in the courtroom.

At the end of the trial, the prosecutors stated that the outcome depended solely on four specific words: "power, authority, manipulation, and mistreatment."

Kelli Galloway, the assistant district attorney, disagreed with how the defence depicted Jabbari as attempting retribution following the supposed attack. "This does not match up with the evidence presented during the trial," she stated.

Ms. Galloway clarified that her actions were not motivated by a desire to seek revenge or destroy the defendant's life and career. She emphasized that what happened in March 2023 was not part of a calculated plan to retaliate.

Majors seemed to cry as his lawyer, Priya Chaudry, restated his innocence during her own speech.

Once reports of the accusations against him were made public, the actor's representatives terminated their professional relationship with him. Additionally, the US Army removed various advertisements featuring the actor from distribution.

The Independent shared news last month that Marvel is facing a "crisis" and that their upcoming slew of superhero movies are now facing problems because of legal issues with Majors.

On Wednesday, Judge Michael Gaffey gave the go signal for the evidence to be released. The collection of evidence includes text messages, photos, videos, a recording of the suspect claiming he's a "great man", and the 911 call during the night of the supposed assault. The trial was coming to an end when the evidence was allowed to be disclosed.

The CCTV video seemed to display the duo grappling on the road, following which Majors appeared to push Ms Jabbari back inside the car.

Pictures displayed the severity of Ms Jabbari's wounds, and messages exchanged via text demonstrated how the performer had begged her to avoid seeking medical attention after a distinct supposed confrontation.

The members of the jury were informed that Ms Jabbari received medical attention for minor injuries on her head and neck, which included a laceration on her ear. Moreover, Ms Jabbari reported to the police that she had been physically attacked and sent to the hospital with minor injuries on her head and neck after a disagreement occurred within the car.

A date has been scheduled for the sentencing, which will take place on February 6th.

Majors has been featured in the movies Creed III, Da 5 Bloods, and The Harder They Fall.
