Tesco has advised all the Clubcard holders to avail their rewards within the next fourteen days. After this duration, the value of the rewards will be curtailed from three times to two times.

The largest supermarket in the UK made an announcement in March that starting from June 14, customers can redeem their Clubcard points for double their value, instead of the current three times value.

The prizes that were requested on or before June 13 will remain valid for a period of one year starting from the issuance date.

The widely-known plan allows customers to earn points by making purchases at Tesco. These points can then be traded for vouchers that can be used either in-store or for trips to different places like Pizza Express, Legoland, and Alton Towers.

The supplier initially presented Clubcard in 1995 and quickly noticed a 28% increase in expenditure.

In simpler terms, Alessandra Bellini, the chief customer officer of Tesco, suggests that club members capitalize on the opportunity to redeem their vouchers for three times their value until June 13. She also mentions that while the company is changing how vouchers can be used with reward partners, customers should still take advantage of this offer and treat themselves and their loved ones while they can.

We have lengthened the duration of exchanged codes at a triple rate. Hence, if modified before the ultimate time limit, they will endure for 12 months, as opposed to half a year. This action is taken to provide users with a more extended period to relish them.

Clients conveyed their dissatisfaction with the modification, highlighting that it occurred when the economic hardship was already impacting household finances.

A customer wrote on social media: "Tesco's loyalty card, #clubcard, is now only worth double its value. Thank you, Tesco. Your concern for your faithful customers is clearly nonexistent. I might have to find another store to shop at."

Another person who uses Clubcard shared their experience: "Back when our children were younger, we found the Tesco Clubcard X4 to be incredibly helpful. It was a lifesaver during our family outings, as we were able to use our vouchers to purchase discounted Merlin passes, which saved us a significant amount of money."

Currently, we benefit from it for our own usage and X3 performs satisfactorily. However, it is completely disrespectful that #X2 fails to meet the expectations of our consumers.

One individual expressed their thoughts on Twitter regarding Tesco's email announcement about the alteration of the clubcard voucher exchange value. The tweet disclosed disappointment as it stated that the exchange value would now be 2x instead of 3x the initial value.

"Extremely dissatisfying! They were recently valued at four times their current worth. Isn't your profit margin sufficient already?"

A lady went on Twitter to inform Tesco that their Clubcard plan had kept her loyal to their store. However, she added that due to their escalating prices and announcement regarding the modification of points, she would have to search for alternatives.

"I believe many people will do the same. It was truly beneficial for all of us. I am let down by Tesco," she expressed.

Recently, loyalty schemes at Sainsbury's and Boots have experienced a decrease in their value.

Beginning in May, those who own Advantage Cards from Boots will receive 25% less for every £1 they spend in stores, acquiring only 3p instead of 4p.

During the month of November, Sainsbury's Bank reduced the quantity of Nectar points that their clients could obtain by 75%. Previously, customers received two points for every £1 spent, but now they will only receive one point for every £2 spent.
