The cricket player, Amir, did really well! He got two wickets and only gave away 13 runs in three overs. He bowled lots of balls that the batters didn't hit, 11 in fact! He didn't look rusty at all since his return. The first wicket he took was Tim Robinson's, who hit the ball straight to Iftikhar Ahmed nearby. Then, Amir got the wicket of Dean Foxcroft who scored 13 runs before being out. In his third over, he only let the batters score 5 runs. Really good job from Amir and the rest of the Pakistan team since they managed to bowl out the New Zealand team for only 90 runs in 18.1 overs.

After an absence of nearly four years, he participated in international cricket, and his name is also being considered for selection to the Pakistan team for the upcoming T20 World Cup, which will be held later this year in the United States and West Indies. Amir arrived for the series after playing for Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024.

Amir Leads Pakistan To 1-0 Victory

At the start of this year, Amir changed his mind about retiring and decided to participate in the World Cup. Wahab Riaz stated in the past that Amir was chosen for the matches against the Kiwis since Haris Rauf is still recuperating from his shoulder injury that occurred during the PSL in 2024.

In the ongoing series, Pakistan has gained a lead of 1-0 by winning the second T20I by 7 wickets. They efficiently completed their batting with 7.1 overs left to spare. The credit goes to Mohammad Rizwan who scored an unbeaten 45, contributing to their victory. Saim Ayub, Babar Azam, and Usman Khan, however, didn't do well in their performances.
