Angelina Jolie turns up heat in war with Brad Pitt over $500M winery Miraval as lawyers call his...

Brad Pitt

The tension between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt has increased regarding their battle over the ownership of their $500M winery, Chateau Miraval. Recently, Angelina's legal team deemed Brad's request for non-disclosure agreements as "abusive". The situation escalated following Angelina's claim that Brad was attempting to financially drain her in their ongoing legal feud.

In the recent past, Pitt, aged 60, made a request to view the NDAs that Jolie, aged 48, might have with third parties. However, Jolie's legal representatives have recently called this move 'expensive,' 'wasteful,' 'unreasonable,' and 'abusive,' as per the court documents obtained by Page Six on Friday.

According to the report, Jolie claimed in legal papers that her former partner had requested her to sign a broad non-disclosure agreement during their cancelled agreement for the winery. She alleged that he did so with the intention of preventing her from discussing accusations that he had been violent towards her and their kids, even during a flight from France to California in the year 2016.

At the beginning of this month, Jolie made statements through her legal representatives that were publicized. According to these statements, Pitt had been physically abusing Jolie long before the family's plane journey from France to Los Angeles in September 2016. However, it was during this particular flight that he reportedly began physically abusing their children as well.

As per Page Six, the actress recently filed court documents claiming that giving away the rest of her NDAs would infringe on privacy rights of other parties. The said parties could possibly be film companies, brands, or employees, as these documents divulge information about Jolie's earnings or payments made to other individuals.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are continuing to fight over the ownership of the $500 million winery Chateau Miraval. Recently, Angelina's lawyers criticized Brad's request for non-disclosure agreements, calling it abusive. This comes shortly after Angelina accused Brad of attempting to drain her finances. The legal battle between the two continues to escalate. A picture of the two from March 2014 was included in the report.

At the moment, Pitt, who is aged 60, has made a request to have a look at the non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) that 48-year-old Jolie has made with other people. However, Jolie's legal team have stated that this is a costly, pointless, unjustified, and unfair move. The photo that accompanies this section shows a winery in France.

According to the report, Jolie claimed in legal papers that her former partner had requested her endorsement on a comprehensive NDA as part of their aborted agreement regarding the winery. She contended that he did so in an attempt to prevent her from speaking out about his supposed mistreatment of both her and their offspring, which allegedly occurred during a flight from France to California back in 2016. Pictures of Jolie and her kids were taken in October 2021.

According to Jolie's team, Pitt allegedly requested her to sign an unfair and extensive non-disclosure agreement that would cover his personal misdemeanors, regardless of their connection to Miraval. This condition was supposed to be met before Jolie could sell her share to him.

In simpler terms, Jolie and Pitt had a deal but it didn't work out because of a signed agreement that Jolie couldn't talk about. Jolie then sold her shares to a Stoli Group company. Pitt didn't like this and claimed it was unfair because she did it without telling him.

At the beginning of this month, only DailyMail.com released a report about the ongoing legal dispute between Jolie and Pitt called 'the war of the rosés'. According to the report, Jolie accused her ex-partner Pitt of being 'controlling' and 'financially draining her' through the long-lasting legal battle over the winery that has been affecting the couple since their separation in 2016.

However, despite her claims that her ex is draining her financially, DailyMail.com has discovered that her financial situation has actually improved considerably since they split up. They were together for a decade, but only married for two years before getting divorced.

A recent investigation conducted by DailyMail.com shows that instead of decreasing, Jolie's money has increased by nearly $100 million thanks to her association with Pitt.

She acquired the funds from a variety of sources including loans, financial support for her children, presents and from selling half of her stake in Chateau Miraval, the property that was the center of the disagreement. Brad Pitt also gave her ten percent of the money from the sale as a gift.

Back in 2008, the pair acquired a charming estate and vineyard in France which covered an impressive 1,200 acres and had a value of $60million. Presently, Pitt's hard work and financial contributions to the enterprise have catapulted the estate's value to a mind-blowing $164million.

Despite Jolie, who is 48 years old, making it seem like she's broke in the latest court documents, people who are close to Pitt have stated that the star of Tomb Raider had enough money to seal the deal on acquiring 57 Great Jones Street in Manhattan. This property is one-of-a-kind and was formerly owned by Andy Warhol, and the previous tenants had to pay a monthly rent of $60,000.

The agreement they had made came to an end as Jolie stated that the non-disclosure agreement was the reason for it. Consequently, she sold her portions to a subsidiary of Stoli Group.

Pitt has disagreed with the Stoli agreement and claimed that she had unjustly sold the share without involving him.

In the beginning of this month, DailyMail.com was the first to report that Jolie had made allegations against her former partner Pitt. She claimed that he has been attempting to manipulate her and take her money during their legal disputes that have continued since their separation in 2016, as shown in official documents.

Angelina Jolie appeared stylishly elegant while she made a stop at the front shop for her recently launched clothing line, Atelier Jolie.

According to acquaintances of the performer, Pitt has been contributing his share of financial assistance to his former spouse and their children even though they are currently engaged in a bitter legal dispute.

Jolie has agreed to rent a property that measures 6,600 square feet for eight years. She plans to use it as a storefront to showcase her fashion brand, Atelier Jolie.

The actress has recently submitted legal papers to DailyMail.com, stating that she is in a lot of pain when it comes to defending herself against Pitt's claims. She believes that Pitt is trying to control her and drain her financially. Moreover, Pitt's incorrect accusations about the reasons behind the failure of the Miraval deal can only be proven if she explains why the deal fell apart. However, this is something that Jolie never wanted to do. This is due to Pitt's demand for a non-disclosure agreement, which would cover up his past behavior towards Jolie and their family, involving physical and emotional abuse.

According to an insider, Angie has accused Brad of draining her finances, but it appears that she wants to exhaust his resources as well.

According to the source, Brad has not tried to harm his ex. Instead, he has gone out of his way to provide financial assistance to Angie, even though she seems to be seeking revenge.

At first, Pitt attempted to purchase Jolie's share of the winery to maintain ownership within their family in case she decided to depart. Nonetheless, because of unpleasantness between them, the agreement fell through.

Pitt claimed that Jolie violated their agreement by selling her share of Chateau Miraval to Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler in 2021, without first seeking his approval.

Jolie stated that the previous proposal to vend it to Pitt for a price of $54 million collapsed because of his requirements.

Ever since they went their separate ways in 2016, the two celebrities have been engaged in a legal battle over their former joint ownership of a vineyard in France called Chateau Miraval (as shown in the picture).

When Pitt found out that his former spouse had sold her portion of their beautiful Chateau Miraval land to Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler in 2021, he was taken aback as he had not given his consent.

Jolie has stated that her former spouse mistreated her and their six offspring, namely Maddox Chivan who is 22 years old, Pax Thien who is 20, Zahara Marley who is 19, Shiloh Nouvel who is 17, as well as the twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline, who are both 15 years old.

However, acquaintances of the celebrity who received an Academy Award for his role in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood have come forward to support Pitt as an individual who has always acted in a kind and generous manner towards the actress.

As of 2018, Pitt had utilized over $1.3 million on supporting his children, which involves financing their therapy and handling various miscellaneous expenses.

Reportedly, Pitt has reliably covered these costs for the previous seven years and it's estimated that he has paid almost $10 million for child support during that time.

At the time, the couple purchased Miraval in 2008. Pitt acquired the larger share, 60 percent, of the company focused on producing wine and the estate, whereas Jolie got 40 percent.

Pitt invested a lot of money into the estate, taking advantage of the popularity of rosé wine, and worked hard to expand the business. All of his efforts paid off, as sales increased by an impressive 300 percent.

In no time, the property they acquired for around $60million skyrocketed in value to nearly $164 million.

As stated in previously submitted court documents, Jolie had ceased investing by the time of her marriage, but she has disputed this claim.

However, Pitt gave her a generous present on their wedding in December 2013 which involved transferring 10% of his share to her without any cost. This gesture meant that Pitt and his partner were in equal partnership at 50/50 when they tied the knot in August 2014.

Reportedly, Pitt has provided nearly $10 million in financial assistance for his children throughout the years. A picture from 2014 shows the actor with three of his children and his parents.

According to insiders who are familiar with the situation, the Hollywood star has been defended by those close to him. They describe Pitt as someone who has always acted in a gracious manner towards his ex who is now being labeled as 'vindictive.'

On top of the kind present, Pitt bestowed upon his spouse a scarce artwork of Winston Churchill's 'Tower of Koutoubia Mosque'. In March 2021, she disposed of it for a staggering $11.5 million.

In 2018, he lent her a sum of $8 million that she used to buy her present residence in Los Angeles.

Jolie acquired a lavish property located in Los Feliz which was formerly owned by Cecil B. DeMille. This deal cost her a whopping $24.5 million. Furthermore, Jolie has stated that the monetary contribution of $8 million made by her ex-husband Pitt was in the nature of a loan. This loan contains an added interest rate and a plan of repayment.

Surprisingly, according to her statements to Vogue, she selected the estate because she desired her kids to be in proximity to their dad who resides only five minutes away.

In the meantime, while the argument about selling the winery continues, Pitt has achieved some legal successes in the past few months. One of the most important was obtaining a court ruling in Luxembourg which gave him back authority over Chateau Miraval's highly-praised vineyard for the time being, until more legal proceedings can take place.

Only in the previous month, he achieved another victory after the LA Superior Court dismissed Jolie's claims that his lawsuit was 'frivolous, malicious, and part of an alarming trend.'
