Paul Mullin is rejoicing after successfully scoring Wrexham's second goal against Rovers.

Wrexham secured their spot in League One by producing a dominant performance, which placed Forest Green Rovers on the verge of getting demoted.

At the halfway mark, the home team had a commanding lead thanks to Elliot Lee, Paul Mullin's brace, and an own goal by Ryan Innis.

Ryan Barnett and Jack Marriott scored in the second half to complete the victory.

The fashionable win, along with losses for MK Dons and Barrow, enables Phil Parkinson's squad to secure a comeback to the third level of English football, which they haven't reached since 2004.

This marks the team's second promotion in a row, following their victory in the National League last season.

Fans rushed onto the Stok Racecourse after the end of the game to rejoice in another unforgettable event in the team belonging to the well-known actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

Prior to the game, Coach Parkinson expressed that Wrexham had the power to determine their own fate, having emerged victorious in five out of their previous eight matches.

Wrexham secured a guaranteed spot in the play-offs with their remarkable 4-1 victory against Crawley Town on Tuesday. They were aware that they needed five points from their last three games to achieve automatic promotion from League Two.

However, they entered the match on Saturday with the awareness that defeating Forest Green and the loss of points by their opponents, MK Dons and Barrow, would result in the Dragons securing their promotion by the conclusion of the game.

Forest Green went to Stok Racecourse after losing four of their five previous games, which put them three points behind the safety position at the bottom of the table.

The team from Wrexham started off strongly and kept their lineup from their previous win. They played with a lot of energy and focus in the first 15 minutes, but despite their control of the game, they only managed a couple of opportunities that didn't quite make it.

However, it was undeniable that the team playing at home would soon score. After a corner taken by Tom O'Connor, which the opposing team failed to clear properly, Mullin attempted a shot but it was blocked. Eventually, the ball fell to Lee who poked it in from a close position near the far post.

Mullin took a long-range shot that missed the goal, but the leading scorer of Wrexham quickly scored a second goal.

Lee discovered James McClean positioned on the outer side, and the Republic of Ireland team player's pass came in contact with Mullin, who was unguarded at the far post and managed to score his 24th goal of the season.

The Dragons were still dominating and Eoghan O'Connell kicked the ball from outside the box. Unfortunately, it hit Inniss and rolled into the goal, making it three points for the team.

Mullin, who was named Player of the Month for League Two in March, had a fantastic first half of the match. During a corner that O'Connor had taken, the ball was not cleared properly and Mullin took advantage by taking a shot that was deflected and made the goalkeeper, Vincente Reyes, lose his balance.

Forest Green didn't make many advances into Wrexham's half during the first half of the game. They were lucky to not be losing by more at halftime.

The team playing at their own stadium continued to control the game even in the second half. Barnett made a powerful shot into the goal after receiving a perfectly accurate pass from McClean who was doing an excellent job near the sideline.

The shot made by Lee during a round of curling went past the post swiftly. On the opposite side, the attempt by the substitute, Dominic Thompson, sailed above the crossbar without causing any harm, which reflected the overall performance of Forest Green during the game.

A different McClean's pass into the box led to the team's sixth point, thanks to the substitute player Marriott who scored.

Wrexham completed their task successfully and upon hearing that MK Dons and Barrow had been defeated, the fans started rejoicing over their second promotion in as many years.
