The newest wool artwork displayed in Carnon Downs, Cornwall, involves crocheted work.

Joy Macdonald and the individuals belonging to the Carnon Downs Crafters Group are the creators of the post box toppers.

In the past, they created a topper showcasing the Native Birds of Britain during springtime and crafted a figurine of King Charles and Queen Camilla for the Royal Wedding ceremony held last year.

The sword hilt of the St. George figurine is adorned with small precious stones.

Joy Macdonald created the dragon sculpture.

Joy, who is 64 years old, stated, "Creating new ones every month has become a beloved and customary activity of mine."

Lesley Rance created the statue of St. George, which was revealed before St. George's Day on April 23rd. On the other hand, Joy made the dragon figurine for the April topper.

Joy confidently stated that creating the dragon was simple for her as she had previously made similar designs and already possessed the necessary pattern.

It has become routine in the village. Whenever I step into the store, people eagerly inquire: "What's the latest design going to look like?"

The village crafting community gained global attention in 2022 for creating countless poppies through crocheting in honor of the fallen soldiers and horses of the First World War. They used a horse-shaped frame made of steel as the centerpiece.
