It cannot be denied that Rolex is the most prestigious and highly regarded brand at the annual event.

This morning, they showcased their upcoming products for 2024, placing significant emphasis on their premium watches.

The Chronofinder team has extensively analyzed the latest releases to provide their insight on the 2024 assortment.

Recently, Rolex has been focusing on the GMT-Master II model, which is why it was not surprising to see a new version of the GMT in this year's collection.

Rolex has launched a new version of the GMT watch, featuring a two-tone black and grey bezel. You can choose from either a jubilee or an oyster bracelet. This model is similar to the 116710LN edition that was released back in 2007, which had an all-black design with a green GMT hand. However, the previous version was discontinued in 2018. This updated version offers a unique take on the classic watch design and it's exciting to see Rolex innovate with new releases rather than simply reissuing old models, as they have done in the past.

Leading up to this year's Watches & Wonders event, it was widely speculated that the GMT Pepsi watch design would be phased out to make room for the revived Coke edition with a different colored bezel. Despite all the talk and predictions surrounding this rumor, it came as quite a surprise that the Coke version did not make an appearance. However, avid watch fans should still be pleased with the latest GMT lineup released this year.

Blue And Gold Deep Sea

This year, Rolex stopped producing every type of Yacht-Master II. The Yacht-Master II with a 44mm diameter was made in steel, a combination of steel and rose gold, as well as both white gold and yellow gold. Consequently, this halt in production has created an emptiness for individuals who collect watches and favor a bigger one made of a valuable metal.

In order to combat this problem, Rolex has unveiled an impressive Sea-Dweller made entirely of yellow gold, measuring 44mm. This particular piece comes with a stunning blue ceramic bezel and blue dial design. It is the most substantial Rolex made of precious metal in its collection and is expected to be highly sought after by collectors.

The full gold Sky-Dweller collection has been given a fancier look with the recent addition of the jubilee bracelet, which is a significant update when it comes to larger precious metal Rolex watches.

Before Watches & Wonders, Rolex unveiled a fresh watch model to honor their sponsorship of the 2024 Oscars. This move took the watch industry by shock. Their stunning ad showcased a remarkable montage of actors donning their Rolex watches. Furthermore, the ad's finale revealed the new gradient dial of the rose gold Day-Date 40mm.

During the latest edition of Watches & Wonders, Rolex paid particular attention to the Day-Date model. There were numerous releases, making it a challenging task to discuss them all in a single blog post. Nonetheless, some of our preferred introductions were the ombre dials in varying hues, a Mother of Pearl dial featuring baguette diamonds, and a blue baguette diamond dial for the 36mm model, resembling the turquoise blue of the rose gold Sky-Dweller.

Last year, Rolex replaced its Cellini watch with the 1908 as its top classic dress watch. This year, they made a great addition to the collection with the release of the Perpetual 1908 in platinum, which has an open caseback.

I think it's great how Rolex has kept to the style of the platinum Daytona. They've combined a cool blue color, platinum, and a warm brown hue from the 1908 dress watch. This gives the model an extra classy and luxurious feel. As if that weren't impressive on its own, the watch also features the 7140 calibre movement, which is on display and makes this timepiece even more spectacular.

In 2023, the latest Daytona watches were sold with a restricted choice of diamond dials. But now, we're excited to share that this year's collection has an increased selection of luxurious gemstones adorning the bezels, dials, and sides of the Daytona watches.

This season, Rolex has brought back the sundust baguette diamond dial option for their rose gold wristbands, as well as their full bracelets. Additionally, they're debuting a champagne baguette dial for their yellow gold pieces.

The latest offerings feature bezels adorned with expertly carved trapeze diamonds, which are commonly referred to as 'TBR'. Earlier employment of this type of bezel on the Daytona timepiece has been typically restricted to non-catalogue products like the 'Eye Of The Tiger' and 'Rainbow' Daytona.

One of the impressive watches introduced in this year's line of Daytonas is the reappearance of the Mother of Pearl dial in the white gold version.

The RBR bezel adorned with 36 round brilliant cut diamonds is a distinctive feature of this particular model. Each dial crafted from Mother of Pearl is distinct and one-of-a-kind, reminiscent of a unique fingerprint. The combination of the dazzling bezel and exquisite dial is truly breathtaking.

The Le Mans Daytona, made of white gold, was introduced in June 2023 but was already stopped this year after a brief period of production. It was sold for less than a year and may have the shortest production time of any Rolex model. This rarity makes it highly valuable in the resale market, with a huge markup. Rolex has now replaced the white gold version with a yellow gold one, which we believe is the standout among all models. The new watch is truly mesmerizing and will surely attract a lot of attention from collectors worldwide.

Our team at Chronofinder was absolutely blown away by the latest Rolex releases for this year. We were anticipating an exciting event, but we never expected such a significant emphasis on their top-of-the-line models. Rolex has always been a top contender in the world of luxury watches, and they have certainly outdone themselves this year with the impressive collection they have added to their lineup. We are eagerly anticipating the arrival of these stunning timepieces in our Central London showroom.
