JK Rowling advised Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson to not hold themselves responsible or apologize as their perceptions diverge regarding transgender rights.

The person who wrote the blog used to have a strong bond with the two actors who played main roles in the movie versions of her magical book series. However, she expressed disapproval towards them following a significant examination of how gender-related issues are dealt with in the UK.

After making controversial comments about the trans community in 2020, Rowling experienced a negative reaction from several important members of the cast. As the debate became more and more toxic, her connection with the stars worsened.

Radcliffe portrayed the main character, Harry Potter, and composed an essay in solidarity with the trans community for The Trevor Project. He also expressed remorse for the hurt that Rowling's remarks have caused among fans of the Harry Potter franchise.

At the same time, Watson penned the following words: "I wish to convey to all of my transgender supporters that you are seen, appreciated, and cherished for being exactly who you are." During the 2022 Baftas, she seemingly took a jab at Rowling.

After the Cass report was released this week, Rowling criticized Radcliffe and Watson and advised them to withhold their apologies for "detransitioners" who have been traumatized.

The disagreement resumed when a Twitter user named "FarRightHooligan" sent a message to Rowling, saying they were anticipating a public apology from Dan and Emma, and believed that Rowling would forgive them.

Rowling replied with concern, stating that it was not a secure environment. She pointed out that celebrities who supported a movement that sought to undermine the rights women had worked hard to achieve and used their platforms to endorse the transition of minors should not bother apologizing to individuals who have undergone traumatic detransitioning experiences or women who depend on spaces designated exclusively for their gender.

She made this statement following the news that the author might face an inquiry from the police for using incorrect gender pronouns for trans individuals as per the latest hate crime legislation in Scotland.

Siobhian Brown, the community safety minister of the SNP party, had previously stated that referring to a trans woman as "he" would not be considered a hate crime. However, she has since declared that it would be up to the police to decide.

Despite the recent law that prohibits hate speech, Rowling expressed her determination to continue referring to a person as their biological gender. She has often expressed her belief that transgender women are not real women online. Rowling also claimed that she will not remove her social media posts that might violate hate crime laws.

For a significant amount of time, the writer has been a vocal opponent of the Scottish Government's plans regarding gender reform. They strongly believe that these proposals could potentially jeopardize the safety of women.

Before, she has stated that she would prefer to be imprisoned instead of using the preferred pronouns of a trans person.

In the end, the police stated that Rowling's remarks regarding the new laws on hate crimes "are not considered to be illegal" and verified that they will not pursue any further action.
