Similar to the previous Doctors who have served, having only one companion is not sufficient for the Fifteenth Doctor. In the upcoming second season, Varada Sethu will be joining him on his adventures inside the TARDIS.

Varada is jumping into the Whoniverse after being in a distant galaxy, where she starred in the Star Wars series Andor on Disney+. She will now be traveling through time and space again with Ncuti Gatwa, who plays the Fifteenth Doctor, and Millie Gibson, who plays Ruby Sunday.

Sethu expresses that they are extremely fortunate and privileged to be a member of the Whoniverse. They feel grateful to be part of the Doctor Who family, who have welcomed them with open arms and made them feel comfortable. Ncuti and Millie are fantastic teammates, and Sethu is having a fantastic time on this journey. Overall, they couldn't ask for a better group of people to work with.

Russell T Davies, who is the showrunner, executive producer, and writer, says that he has previously collaborated with Varada on a show produced by the BBC called A Midsummer Night's Dream. He feels elated to have her join the team working on TARDIS. Currently, they are filming for the year 2025, and Ncuti, Millie, and Varada are seen battling alongside each other on the set. According to Davies, the presence of all three of them is crucial as the intensity of the situation they are dealing with has gone up a notch.

Sethu is most recognized for her exceptional performance as Cinta Kaz in the Disney+ Exclusive production Andor. She has also been a part of other TV shows and films such as Jurassic World Dominion, Annika and Strike Back.

At present, the second installment of Doctor Who is being produced and is expected to premiere on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the United Kingdom and Disney+ in the United States and other parts of the world (where it is accessible) by 2025.

Today, pictures from a gathering where the cast members Sethu, Gatwa (who plays the role of the Fifteenth Doctor), and Gibson (Ruby Sunday's character) were present have been made public.

The first season of Doctor Who is launching on BBC iPlayer and Disney+ at the same time. For people in the UK, the first two new episodes of the season will be available on BBC iPlayer at midnight on May 11th, and then on BBC One later on in the day. Episodes will be released on BBC iPlayer first, followed by a prime time airing on BBC One each week afterwards. For those outside of the UK, Doctor Who starts streaming on May 10th at 7pm Eastern Time on Disney+, if it's available, which means it will have a worldwide launch at the same time.

The TV series Doctor Who is created by Bad Wolf in association with BBC Studios for the joint benefit of BBC and Disney Branded Television.

Russell T Davies leads the production as showrunner, executive producer, and writer. Assisting him as additional executive producers are Phil Collinson, Joel Collins, Julie Gardner, and Jane Tranter.
