Masters Round 1: Live Scores, Updates & Highlights At Augusta National Golf Club

On April 11th, 2024 at 5:52 pm Eastern Time, a blog post was published that took one minute to read.

The 2024 Masters is here, or at least it's supposed to be. Unfortunately, bad weather has caused a delay and start time has been pushed back to 10:30 a.m. ET at Augusta National Golf Club. This means that tee times will likely be in the afternoon and the first round could possibly continue into the second day. Regardless of the start time, all the other 88 men in the tournament will be competing to catch up to Scottie Scheffler.

The favorite with odds of 4-1 is currently displaying exceptional golf skills and striving to win his second green jacket in three years. Scheffler is performing spectacularly, having only lost to a single opponent across his last three tournaments. It's widely believed that only a select few golfers have the potential to match his performance at Augusta National this week.

Possible rewritten version: Scottie Scheffler faces tough competition at the Masters, with Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffele among those who could challenge him in the opening rounds. Other contenders seeking major victories or a shot at history include Jordan Spieth, aiming for his fourth major and a second green jacket, Brooks Koepka, eyeing his sixth major title, and Jon Rahm, hoping to become the first back-to-back winner since Tiger Woods in 2001-2002. Phil Mickelson, a three-time winner at Augusta, aims to improve on his second-place finish from last year, while Tiger Woods, a five-time winner, hopes to extend his streak of consecutive cuts and perhaps surprise everyone by fighting for the title.

"Mad Max Heading Toward Success"

There are many events happening on the second half of the golf course as Scottie Scheffler is doing exceptionally well. Meanwhile, Max Homa is performing incredibly in the first half. Despite having only achieved one top 10 major victory, Homa is currently 2 under after completing the first five holes alongside Tiger Woods and Jason Day. However, other popular golfers such as Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, and Jordan Spieth are struggling to keep up and are playing over the par early on.

Bad Shots Still Impress

Top Ranking Player Gets A Big Break!

Once Scheffler made a birdie on the 12th par-3 hole, he successfully landed on the fairway of hole 13. Although it looked like his second shot had fallen into Rae's Creek, it miraculously stayed above it. Scheffler made the most of this lucky turn of events, bringing his score to 4 under par and placing him in second place, tied with another player. At this point, Scheffler only trails Bryson DeChambeau by three strokes.
