We are deeply saddened to inform you that Caroline March passed away yesterday, on March 23rd, which was a bit over a month since she turned 31 years old. Our hearts are heavy with grief at this news.

Caroline was a popular figure in the British eventing circle due to her charismatic personality and determined nature. She was a skilled event rider who competed up to the four-star level. Unfortunately, an injury in 2022 put a stop to her riding career, but Caroline refused to let this setback hold her back. Instead, she turned to other passions such as overseeing the training of young horses on her yard and pursuing photography. Her enthusiasm and drive shone through in everything she did, quickly elevating her photography to a professional level.

No matter how gifted someone may be, their worth is not solely determined by their abilities. Caroline's departure, a graceful conclusion to her life which she was able to decide for herself, will be grieved by numerous individuals who were privileged to be considered as her loved ones.

Caroline wrote a goodbye letter that has been included below, and it shares her story in a more genuine way than any news article ever could. Just be aware that she delves into some difficult subjects and uses colorful language. But we mean that as a compliment. Caroline, here's to you for staying authentic until the very end. We will always toast to that.

We, the members of Team EN, offer our sincere sympathies to the family and loved ones of Caroline.

Caroline's choice is an example of the freedom we believe everyone should have to make their own decisions. However, we realize that some readers who may be in a vulnerable situation may find this story distressing. If you need assistance or someone to talk to, please don't hesitate to contact Samaritans or Riders Minds at any time. They'll be there to provide support and a sympathetic ear.
