Newcastle United

This week, we will be looking at the latest news headlines surrounding Newcastle United and giving a skeptical interpretation of what they may or may not indicate.

The principle of "share and share alike" is often one of the first things we learn as children. It means that we should be willing to share what we have with others and that, in return, others will be willing to share with us. This principle is important because it teaches us to be generous and kind, and it helps to create a sense of community and fairness. When we share with others, we show that we care about them and that we are willing to help them in any way we can. Sharing can take many forms, from sharing our toys as children to sharing our time and resources as adults. Whether we are sharing a meal with friends or donating money to a charity, every act of sharing helps to make the world a better place. The principle of "share and share alike" also means that we should be willing to receive help from others when we need it. This can be difficult for some people, as they may feel embarrassed or ashamed to ask for help. However, when we are willing to receive help from others, we show that we are humble and open to learning from others, which can help us grow and develop as individuals. Ultimately, the principle of "share and share alike" is a reminder that we are all in this together. By working together and helping each other out, we can create a better world for ourselves and for future generations. So let's keep sharing, and let's keep making the world a better place!

Last week, it was announced that Amanda Staveley's stake in Newcastle United had decreased from 10% to 6%, but this news did not seem to be a concern for the media or fans. This reduction is due to further investment from the Saudi Public Investment Fund, which means that the PCP (Staveley) holding within the club is reduced. While this may not mean much in the short term, it could have a significant impact on future ownership of the club. It is interesting to note that the Reubens' shareholding has increased to 14%, indicating that they have bought the PCP shares. It is possible that over the next few years, Staveley's role may become non-executive or she may even leave the club, should the major shareholders decide not to renew any management contracts with United. However, it is likely that Staveley will make a tidy profit on the sale of shares to the Reubens, given that the club's value has increased to an estimated £1Bn in just over two years since the takeover in October 2021. This is a testament to Staveley's role in loosening Ashley's grip on the club.

Amanda Staveley recently shared some information on social media that left many fans confused. She mentioned that the management team, led by Yasir-Al-Rumayyan, had met at Alnwick Castle, possibly to discuss transfers. However, there have been no updates on this meeting. In other news, Bayern Munich made an offer for Kieran Trippier, but it was rejected. Meanwhile, Miguel Almiron and Callum Wilson are still part of the team, as confirmed by Wilson's cryptic social media post. Overall, it's been a strange time for fans as transfer rumors continue to swirl around the club.

This week, it was reported that Manchester United may soon reveal more profitable business deals that will help the club overcome the challenges posed by the Profit and Sustainability Rules. In my opinion, these "obstacles" are not really hindrances, but rather opportunities for the ownership of United to create a strong business foundation that will support long-term success. Unlike Manchester City, which appears to rely on questionable funding from the Abu Dhabi state, we want Newcastle United to be developed properly and to achieve its full potential. We are a big club with tremendous potential, and it is the job of the executive team at SJP to unlock and unleash all of that potential, something which has been neglected for many years.

Recently, many people have been keeping tabs on Kalvin Phillips, a former teammate of a Manchester City player, who is currently on loan to West Ham. However, Manchester United has made a significant move by signing 18-year-old Alfie Harrison for a long-term contract. This is the only acquisition United has made so far, and Javier Manquillo is the only player who has left the team.

I am always perplexed by the fact that many media channels overlook matters that greatly affect fans, while there is a mountain of rubbish pretending to be news on the internet. Recently, there has been news about the Fans Advisory Board and a workshop on away tickets which have hardly been given any attention by the media. Even a quick glance at social media shows how important these topics are to the fans. This kind of disregard is unacceptable.

It's natural to be bothered by things like this even if we shouldn't. Recently, Eddie Howe was asked about the contract situation of Joelinton and it seems like United and Joelinton have different ideas about what a fair package for the player would look like. With Joelinton being 28 years old and having only 18 months left on his contract, it's understandable that he sees this as his last chance to earn a big contract during the peak of his career. Howe calmly mentioned that if a deal cannot be reached between United and Joelinton, he could be sold during the summer. This is standard practice to avoid losing a player for free later on. The headlines generated by this were overdramatic and typical of the football media's hysteria. Overall, it's not a big deal and is just part of the norm in the world of football.

Adidas has released some amusing advertisements featuring United recently, which remind us of the ones from the 90s featuring KK and Sir Les. This comes after United CEO Darren Eales informed us excitedly about the club launching its own retail operation from this summer. It's expected to be much better than the poorly-run Castore operation, which has been terrible from the beginning (although I do like the current first team kit design). We don't know yet if this means we'll see retail stores in the city centre, Metrocentre and SJP again, but the online operation is set to improve significantly. It would certainly annoy the right people if outlets were established in Riyadh and elsewhere.

Continuing Forward... As we move through life, there are bound to be obstacles in our way. Whether it be a difficult project at work or a personal challenge at home, it can be tempting to give up and call it quits. However, it is important to remember to "keep on, keepin' on", as the saying goes. This means that even when things get tough, we must persevere and continue moving forward, instead of giving up. By doing so, we can push past these obstacles and achieve our goals. It is important to stay motivated and focused on what we want to achieve, even when faced with adversity. So, let's remember to keep going and not give up. We can achieve anything we set our minds to with determination and perseverance.
