Jude Bellingham aims to win three trophies on the field after winning an accolade at the renowned Laureus World Sports Awards held in Madrid.

Bellingham received the prestigious World Breakthrough of the Year award for his exceptional performance during his initial days at Real Madrid.

Since joining from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, the 20-year-old has managed to net 21 goals. One of his most impressive feats was scoring the winning goal for the El Clasico match against Barcelona on Sunday.

Bellingham's ultimate goal is to win both LaLiga and the Champions League at Real, concluding the season with a double victory. Afterwards, the team plans to compete in Euro 2024 hosted in Germany, where England is considered as a strong contender to become the champions.

If you were to ask what would represent success in his eyes, Bellingham would say: "I believe it's mostly about winning more trophies."

"We have opportunities to achieve two goals with Madrid and, of course, the Euros with England. Therefore, my definition of success would be to accomplish all three."

This week has been quite hectic, to be honest. I am feeling exhausted, so please forgive me if I appear a bit fatigued.

"I feel honored to have received this award and I hope that I can continue to create unforgettable experiences with Real Madrid and the England team in the years to come."

Novak Djokovic was awarded the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year for the fifth time, which is now a tie-breaking record. This achievement was the result of his successful performance during the Australian Open, French Open, and US Open, where he won all of them and now has a grand total of 24 grand slam men's singles titles.

Djokovic expressed his immense gratitude for winning the prestigious Laureus World Sportsman of the Year award for the fifth time.

As I look back on my first victory in 2012 at 24 years old, I am filled with pride to be here today, 12 years later, reflecting on all of the excitement and accomplishments my fans and I experienced throughout the past year.

Last January, I felt so excited to come back to Australia and clinch my tenth championship title. This tournament holds a special place in my heart and paved the way for an exceptional twelve months.

Without my incredible team and inspiring competitors who have always pushed me to be the best I can be, I would not have achieved this level of success.

Aitana Bonmati received two accolades on stage, making her the first female football player to win the Laureus Sportswoman of the Year award. She also represented the triumphant Spain team at the 2023 Women's World Cup hosted by Australia and New Zealand.

She mentioned feeling humbled as she gazed upon the list of past recipients of this esteemed award.

Serena Williams, Simone Biles, Lindsey Vonn, Naomi Osaka, and last year's champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce are all phenomenal athletes. Not only have they achieved great success in their respective sports, but they have also served as exceptional role models for young women and girls to look up to.

We are extremely proud to be recognized as the inaugural female team to have won the Laureus award, acknowledging our role as trailblazers. Our dedication to promoting equality and fair representation is just as fervent as our passion for playing football on the pitch.

Biles, an American athlete renowned for her gymnastics skills, has been named World Comeback of the Year Award winner. She has previously won Sportswoman of the Year three times.

At the World Gymnastics Championships in Antwerp, Biles won four golden medals. This was her first major competition since leaving the Tokyo Olympics, where she withdrew due to mental health concerns. Afterward, she decided to take a break from gymnastics, a sport that she had previously dominated, for nearly two years.

Additional individuals who were recognized with awards included Rafael Nadal (for his contributions in sport for good), Diede de Groot (who was acknowledged as the top world sportsperson with a disability), and Arisa Trew (who was crowned as the supreme world action sportsperson).

On April 22nd, the 25th edition of the Laureus World Sports Awards was held in Madrid. The event paid tribute to the top athletes in the world representing various sports disciplines. For additional information, kindly check out the website www.laureus.com.
