According to reports, Dane Baptiste, aged 42, who has been a part of shows such as Mock The Week and Live at The Apollo, recently wrote a post on his Instagram stories aimed at a female comedian who he calls a "Zionist". In his message, which he claims is short, Baptiste accuses the woman of "following his family page" and warns her that she will not be "secure". He also mentions that her family members might have to visit the cemetery.

In simpler terms, Baptiste is suggesting that you have a conversation with your spouse and children and consider what their life would be like if you were not around. He also asserts that even if you were to seek refuge in a Think Tank located in north London, he would still be capable of finding and harming you.

If you ask around, comedians will tell you that I am always at your actual front door. Your representative cannot protect you. Even if I end up in jail, your loved ones will be mourning at the graveyard.

This is your final caution. Your behavior is foolish, bu do not foolishly put yourself in harm's way.

Baptiste has expressed regret for his post, acknowledging it as a significant lapse in judgment. He issued a statement to Yahoo News UK, in which he revealed that he had been targeted with numerous threatening and abusive messages in the past, due to his support of the Palestinian cause. These messages had accused him of being antisemitic.

I recently joined a new family and my significant other informed me that a few of them were keeping an eye on her Instagram profile. After hearing about this, I became outraged at the thought of my loved ones being subjected to the same kind of mistreatment.

I messed up big time and wrote a quick, thoughtless comment in order to deter anyone who might be watching my family. I specifically used the word "Zionist" instead of "Jewish," but I understand how alarming, aggressive, and provocative that language can be. Just to clarify, I want to make it clear that I don't have any negative feelings towards the Jewish community, and never have.

I have a family that I cherish and want to keep safe. I didn't handle a situation well and let my emotions guide my reactions without thinking things through, and I am very sorry for how I acted.

The blog post was taken down after other comedians criticized it for being "intimidating" towards a Jewish woman.

According to the Chortle website, a British comedy source, the Jewish comedian was contacted, but they decided to remain anonymous and didn't want to say anything about the danger.

Marcus Brigstocke expressed his opinion that the blog post appeared to have been motivated by hatred towards Jews and women. In his statement on X, he criticized Dane Baptiste's threatening message on Instagram, describing it as specific and alarming, and clearly unjustifiable.

Marcus Brigstocke criticized the post for being discriminatory based on race.

According to Raymond, the promoter, the post was completely unbelievable and contained abhorrent displays of anti-Semitic remarks.

"I won't ignore or remain silent when only my Jewish friends speak out against hatred and racism. It's crucial to put a stop to these things."

Josh Howie wrote on his blog that he has been acquainted with Dane Baptiste for a long time and likes him. Additionally, he enjoys Dane's comedy performances. However, Josh has been hesitant to express his thoughts on Dane's descent into anti-Semitic opinions.

However, the current situation is alarming as it involves making threats towards women who identify as Jewish or 'Zionist'. It is crucial to prioritize the safety of this woman.

The Jewish Arts, Culture and Community Centre in the north-west London has previously hosted performances by Baptiste. However, Raymond Simonson, the individual who manages the Center, has publicly stated that the comedian will not be asked to perform in the future. Simonson went on record on X, expressing outrage and disbelief at both Baptiste's offensive post and the lack of attention the incident received. He described the antisemitism displayed by the comedian, a prominent figure in the entertainment industry, as appalling and utterly indefensible.

Author Alex Hearn of the Jewish Chronicle stated that Baptiste had made a public statement regarding her intent to take the life of a Jewish woman. Additionally, Lee Kern, a screenwriter, voiced the opinion that this matter must be addressed with utmost severity.

Baptiste has a scheduled performance at the Backyard Comedy Club located in the eastern part of London for two consecutive nights towards the end of this month. Yahoo News UK is trying to get confirmation from the venue if the shows will proceed as planned.

Yahoo News UK has also reached out to the Metropolitan Police and the Community Security Trust (CST), an organization that provides protection to British Jews from antisemitic acts, to gather their thoughts on the matter.
