Dua Lipa shared that her desire is for the audience to experience the atmosphere of grooving in a small-sized bar rather than a large music festival while they attend her Glastonbury performance.

In June, the popular Pyramid stage at the festival will be graced by a talented 28-year old who has won three Grammy awards and seven Brit Awards. This amazing artist will be headlining the event, along with other top-notch female performers such as the renowned US R&B star, SZA, and the country-pop queen, Shania Twain, who will perform under the Legends' slot. This will be the first time that Lipa will be performing at the festival since she rocked the John Peel stage back in 2017.

Lipa expressed her desire for a cozy nightclub atmosphere during her performance, despite the fact that she will be playing at the expansive Worthy Farm festival venue in front of 150,000 viewers.

She said to the BBC that it could be a bit challenging, but she needs to come up with a solution to make 150,000 individuals feel like they are in a cozy nightclub.

The objective is to achieve that, and Glasto is the ideal location to do so.

In the previous year, the festival received a lot of criticism for only having male performers as the top billed acts. The organizers of the festival are now aiming to address the issue of underrepresentation by featuring more female artists as the headliners in 2024.

Lipa expressed her gratitude for being a part of the 2024 lineup changing the game regarding female headliners. She believes it is crucial to continue pushing for more female representation and creating a significant transformation in the music industry.

The vocalist mentioned that her upcoming performance at Glastonbury is something she constantly thinks about.

During the preparation period, she shared that she spends half of her thoughts on Glastonbury and the other half on daily chores and errands.

Lipa is planning to launch her album Radical Optimism on Friday, 3 May. According to her, the album's composition is influenced by Britpop.

This is the continuation of her eponymous first album that was out in 2017, making notable tracks such as “Be The One” and “New Rules”. She then dropped her second album named Future Nostalgia last year giving us chart-topping hits such as “Physical” and “Break My Heart”.

Last year, Dua Lipa achieved success with her hit song "Dance The Night". This track was created specifically for the soundtrack of Greta Gerwig's film, Barbie. In addition to her musical contribution, Lipa also had a role in the movie as Mermaid Barbie.

Lipa recently shared her excitement about her upcoming release by expressing her affinity for a phrase that was introduced to her by one of her friends. The term was Radical Optimism and it made an impact on her. She decided to explore it and made it a part of her life.

I was struck by the concept of navigating tumultuous situations with ease and feeling capable of overcoming any adversity. Simultaneously, I delved into the vast music archives of psychedelic, trip hop, and Britpop genres. Their unwavering positivity and bold outlook always resonated with me, and I carried that same sentiment and approach into my music production sessions.

Little Simz, Lauper, and Janelle Monae will be performing at the Pyramid stage in Glastonbury during both the afternoon and evening sessions.

The main stage will feature performances from Burna Boy, PJ Harvey, Michael Kiwanuka, and Paloma Faith as well.

Taking the lead at the Other stage are musical acts like IDLES, Disclosure, and The National, accompanied by The Streets, Two Door Cinema Club, Avril Lavigne, and the up-and-coming group The Last Dinner Party. These talented performers are all slated to take the stage and thrill the audience at the festival's second largest platform.

Camila Cabello, Bombay Bicycle Club, Bloc Party and Confidence Man are also scheduled to appear.

At West Holts, there will be live shows from performers such as Jungle, Jessie Ware, Justice, Black Pumas, and Sugababes. The venue now known as Woodsies will have artists like Jamie XX, Gossip, James Black, Sampha, and Arlo Parks.
