The recipient of the award for the top player in Europe under the age of 21 is Jude Bellingham, who was honored with the Golden Boy award in 2023.

Tuttosport, an Italian sports newspaper, created the award 20 years ago, which is determined by 50 sports journalists from all around the continent. A video message on tuttosport.com was made by an English midfielder who expressed his gratitude to those who voted for him to receive the 2023 Golden Boy award. He thanked them a lot.

I want to express my gratitude to all the people who have been with me during my time at Birmingham, Dortmund, and now Madrid. I couldn't have accomplished all that I have without their support. There are indeed many people who have contributed to my journey, and it would take me hours to list all of them.

Finally, I must highlight the immense support, encouragement, and affection that my family provides me with every single day, which drives me to keep pursuing my goals. Receiving this stunning award only fuels my ambition to continue to surpass my limits and hopefully earn even more accolades in the future.

Bellingham has had a significant influence after transferring from Borussia Dortmund to Real Madrid during the summer. He has scored a total of 13 goals in the course of 14 matches which includes his most recent accomplishment in scoring both goals during the 2-1 win against Barcelona last month.

Last month, a 20-year-old football player received the Kopa Trophy for being the best young player globally at the Ballon d’Or event. He is now the third English player to win the prestigious Golden Boy award. Previously, Wayne Rooney received the award in 2004, while Raheem Sterling won it in 2014. The gala ceremony to honor the awardee will take place in Turin on 4 December.
