Real Madrid Star Jude Bellingham Slams ‘Ridiculous’ Ban For Red Card

Jude Bellingham

Jude Bellingham, who plays for Real Madrid, expressed his disbelief over the red card he received during their game against Valencia, calling it 'unreasonable'.

After succeeding against RB Leipzig in the last 16 of the Champions League with a 2-1 aggregate, Jude Bellingham from Real Madrid shared his thoughts on the two-game ban he received for a red card during the Valencia match. Bellingham commented that he finds it "a little excessive."

Bellingham believed he had earned the victorious goal towards the end of the game at Mestalla on Saturday night, but he later realized that Gil Manzano had already concluded the match with a 2-2 tie.

Excitedly, the 20-year-old rushed towards the referee along with his teammates and exclaimed, "It's a goal!" in a vulgar way in the English language, as shared by his coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Manzano perceived this as a disrespectful act and promptly gave Bellingham a red card, which was later found out to result in a suspension for two matches.

Bellingham was interviewed about the Valencia event after he assisted Vinicius Jr. in scoring the crucial goal that secured a 1-1 draw and allowed Los Blancos to advance to the UCL quarterfinals.

Bellingham initiated that it's not easy to comment because there are ongoing investigations, appeals, etc.

I have to point out that the referee's action of blowing the whistle made the incident occur."

We are all aware of the incident, and it's important to acknowledge that he is a person just like me, with his own flaws and weaknesses.

Bellingham claimed to Movistar, a Spanish broadcaster, that he believes his actions were unfairly criticized and that the individuals involved should have applied more practical judgment.

I don't believe that I made any hurtful remarks towards him. I believe that my running style was comparable to that of my fellow teammates. I think that maybe because I am a newcomer, they may want to single me out at times. It's okay though, because I understand that ultimately I am responsible for my actions. I gave him a reason to eject me from the game.

"Yeah, I'm pretty unhappy about it. However, I reckon that if La Liga and the club put forth an appeal, we might be able to reach a more satisfactory agreement. I believe that two matches is an excessive punishment."

The Englishman agreed that if he were unable to attend those games, he would take accountability for his absence and cheer for the team from the sidelines.

Despite Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti labeling the game against Leipzig as "bad", Bellingham opted for the word "difficult" to describe it.

According to him, Leipzig is an excellent team that has remarkable attacking skills, efficient movement of the ball, and great intensity even without the ball.

We didn't perform our best, but they played well compared to their usual standards. Ultimately, the draw was a fair outcome, and the effort we put in during the previous match against Leipzig aided our advancement.

Bellingham stated that it is crucial to secure victories even when one's performance is not up to par, and his team achieved that objective this evening.
