The Worcestershire County Cricket Club is devastated to inform about the sudden demise of Josh Baker, who was just 20 years old at the time of his passing.
In 2021, Josh made the transition to becoming a professional player for our Club and his presence was immediately well received amongst his fellow teammates. While his proficiency as a spin bowler may have been evident, it was his lively personality and contagious passion that made him a fond favorite of all those who crossed his path. Josh displayed exceptional kindness, warmth, and a level of professionalism that was truly remarkable, highlighting his worth as a valuable member of both his family and our team.
Ashley Giles, who is the head of Worcestershire, expressed his deep sorrow. He said, "We are all feeling extremely upset about the news of Josh's death."
Josh was not just a member of our team, but he was an important part of our cricket community.
