In the 46th minute of the game, Hermoso gets a yellow card for his actions towards Adeyemi, who falls down on the right side, possibly exaggerating the situation. It results in a free-kick for Dortmund, which could lead to an exciting opportunity for them to score.

After 45 minutes of play, Sancho's attempts to trick his way past the Atlético defense on the left wing were successfully blocked. The referee added two minutes of extra time to the first half.
