Tesco has requested its 20 million Clubcard clients to redeem their rewards in the next two weeks, before they get reduced from being worth thrice the value to just twice the value.

The largest supermarket in the UK declared during the month of March that they will double the worth of their Clubcard points once customers redeem them, rather than tripling them as they have done previously. This action will take effect on June 14.

The prizes that were requested on or before June 13 will remain effective for a period of one year starting from the date they were issued.

The well-known plan allows customers to gather reward points by spending money at Tesco. These points can then be exchanged for vouchers that are redeemable in-store or for outings to various places such as Pizza Express, Legoland, and Alton Towers.

The retailer initially launched Clubcard back in 1995 and immediately observed a 28% increase in spending.

Alessandra Bellini, who is the person in charge of customers at Tesco, noted that they will be altering how membership vouchers can be used with reward partners. However, they want to make sure that the millions of people who hold Clubcards are aware that they can still use their vouchers at a triple value until June 13th. This means that they will be able to get codes for their reward partners and treat themselves and their families to something special.

We've given more time to customers who have exchanged their codes before the deadline by extending the validity to a year at a 3x rate instead of six months. This will allow customers to enjoy their benefits for a longer period of time.

Clients voiced their dissatisfaction regarding the alteration, noting its implementation coincided with the ongoing strain of the cost-of-living predicament on domestic finances.

A customer wrote a comment saying that they are disappointed with Tesco. Apparently, Tesco's #clubcard is now only worth x2. The customer felt that Tesco doesn't care about their loyal customers and suggested that it's time to do some shopping at other places.

Another person who also has a Clubcard shared their experience, saying: "Back when our children were still little, we truly appreciated the benefits of having a @Tesco Clubcard X4. It was a big help especially when we went on outings because we were able to use our vouchers to partially pay for Merlin passes. This allowed us to save a significant amount of money."

Currently, we utilize X3 for our own purposes and it performs well. However, it is truly offensive how poorly #X2 treats its customers.

One person wrote: "Hey @tesco, I received an email from you regarding the clubcard voucher exchange value. It seems that the value has been reduced to two times instead of three times.

This is extremely dissatisfying! Just a short while ago, their value was four times higher. Aren't you generating sufficient profit already?

A lady posted on Twitter to Tesco expressing her disappointment about the increase in prices and changes to the points system for their Clubcard program. She stated that the changes have made her consider shopping elsewhere.

"I'm sure many others will do the same. It was truly beneficial for all of us. I'm not impressed with you, Tesco," she further commented.

Recently, Sainsbury's and Boots have reduced the worth of their loyalty programs.

Starting in May, individuals who hold an Advantage Card with Boots have been given a 25% reduction in their rewards for each pound spent in-store. Instead of receiving 4p, these cardholders will now only earn 3p.

Sainsbury's Bank decreased the quantity of Nectar points shoppers could obtain by 75% in November. Initially, customers could obtain two points for every £1 they spent, but now they only receive one point for every £2 they spend.
