According to Mr. Panesar, his aim was to serve as a representative of the working-class citizens of the nation in the Parliament.

Mr. Galloway introduced many candidates from the Workers Party at Parliament Square, and he was one of them.

The member of parliament from Rochdale asserted that his newly established group had already picked out 500 contenders for the upcoming national election.

He mentioned that there were discussions with a member of the Labour House of Lords and three Labour Members of Parliament regarding changing their political affiliation. However, he decided not to reveal their names as they have not yet made a confirmed decision.

Mr. Panesar, who originates from Luton, is striving to challenge the 16,000 majority of Labour's Virendra Sharma in the area of Ealing Southall located in West London.

Mr. Galloway introduced him to the crowd of supporters and candidates from the Workers Party, with a smile on his face, in Parliament Square.

During a short talk, Mr. Panesar expressed his desire to "do something in return" for the working-class individuals who gave him their support when he was a cricket player for the English team. He wished to ensure that the difference between those who are wealthy and those who are not diminishes.

In a conversation with BBC News later, Mr. Panesar revealed that he had never cast his vote in an election before. Nonetheless, he was swayed by the policies presented by the Workers Party, particularly the idea of increasing funds for the NHS through a wealth tax. He was further motivated to run for candidacy by a close acquaintance.

The ex-cricketer from Northants, Sussex, and Essex stated that they were an exceptional spin bowler. They were also a member of the team that secured victory in the Ashes series of 2009.

I'm not trying to deceive anyone. I anticipate that my political actions and decisions will be fair and honest.

In February, Mr Galloway became the Workers Party's first MP by winning the Rochdale by-election. He expressed that the Labour party is his party's primary adversary since they aim to take their place.

Our presence will have a comparable effect on the Labour party as the influence that Nigel Farage and the Reform party are anticipated to have on the Conservative party.

"We may secure some seats, however, our impact on the final outcome could be significant in numerous seats."

If the leader in charge decided to hold off until the fall to announce the election, according to Mr. Galloway, his party would be prepared with individuals ready to run in almost all of the 650 Parliamentary districts.

He mentioned that he will be putting in a lot of effort to remove major Labour representatives, including the deputy leader Angela Rayner and shadow foreign secretary David Lammy.

However, he also verified that the Workers Party won't be competing against ex-Labour representatives Jeremy Corbyn in Islington North, and Diane Abbott in Hackney North and Stoke Newington, if they choose to participate as independent candidates.

In different terms, he expressed his confusion as to why Mr. Corbyn was taking so long to declare his candidacy as an independent. He had wished for the former Labour leader to head a coalition of left-wing powers in the UK and was eagerly awaiting his decision. While he would be pleased if Ms. Abbott joined his party, no discussions were being had with her at this time.

The Workers Party has a few candidates, including Amjad Bashir, who formerly worked for UKIP, but switched to the Conservative party in 2015. Peter Ford and Craig Murray, both former British ambassadors, are also among the candidates. As with all candidates, they will be required to pay a deposit of £500 from their personal funds if they wish to stand in an upcoming general election.
