Tesco reduces value of Clubcard Reward Partner codes from 3x to 2x.

Tesco Clubcard

Tesco customers who own a ClubCard have expressed their disappointment after discovering that the supermarket's voucher program has been reduced in worth.

Customers who have a Tesco Clubcard can exchange the points they collect for vouchers that they can then use to make purchases in Tesco stores.

You can trade these vouchers for codes that let you buy things from lots of Tesco Reward Partners, such as Pizza Express, Alton Towers, and Hotels.com.

Starting in 2018, Clubcard users could increase the worth of their points by three times by using them with a Reward Partner. However, Tesco has recently revealed that the points will only be worth twice their original value as of June 14, 2023.

Tesco has chosen to shut down its Clubcard app and opt for a more comprehensive app.

Last week, the supermarket announced that the scheme will be undergoing changes to maintain a variety of rewards for all Tesco Clubcard members. Additionally, they aim to keep prices affordable for everyone.

The Tesco Clubcard still maintains its position as having the most extensive and generous rewards program with more than 100 partners allowing you to double your Clubcard voucher's value.

Although Reward Partner codes typically have a validity period of six months, Tesco has decided to prolong the period up to 12 months for all codes that have been requested before 13 June. These codes will retain their triple value.

However, the attempt to satisfy disgruntled customers with this offer was not sufficient, particularly since the value of the Reward Scheme had already reduced in 2018.

It's really disappointing to learn that @Tesco Clubcard vouchers are decreasing in worth once more. In just 3 months, they will only be worth twice their value for rear partners. #tescoclubcard

Please don't pretend that everything is okay when it's actually worth only half of its value from a few years ago.

One Twitter user expressed disappointment upon hearing the news that Tesco Clubcard vouchers would be decreasing in value yet again. In just three months, these vouchers will only be worth twice the value for rewards partners, which is not ideal.

"Please don't pretend that it's still excellent when its value has decreased by fifty percent since a few years ago."

Someone else shared: 'Back in the day, we really appreciated the Tesco Clubcard X4 during the time when our children were still young. It came in super handy whenever we wanted to go out and have some fun. We utilized our vouchers to contribute towards purchasing Merlin passes and ended up saving quite a substantial amount of cash.'

"We currently utilize it for our own needs and X3 proves to be satisfactory. However, it is quite disrespectful to our customers that X2 is still available."

A different individual on social media remarked: "It seems that we are now obligated to spend additional money at Tesco for our groceries, yet receive fewer benefits in return."

I appreciate the backing from Tesco.

According to a representative from Tesco, the Clubcard is key to getting the most out of their products and services. This includes access to numerous special offers through Clubcard Prices, discounts on groceries and fuel, and the ability to double the worth of your vouchers by choosing from over 100 Clubcard Reward Partners.

Many individuals make sure to use their Tesco Clubcard during every shopping trip. It grants them access to over 8,000 discounts every week through Clubcard Prices. We made sure to extend this opportunity to every section of our stores, including food, clothing, Tesco Mobile, and Tesco Bank. Therefore, customers can now discover even more superb deals.

'We have decided to modify the process of redeeming vouchers with our Reward Partners. However, our members can still gain access to fantastic benefits in the same variety of ways as before.'

It seems like Tesco is joining others in focusing on instant cost-cutting instead of alternative incentive programs.

Boots has recently declared that it will be altering its rewards program for Advantage Card holders. The new system will reduce the number of points given for each pound spent, in order to provide customers with more instant discounts and savings. This includes a reduction of 10% on all Boots own-brand products.

The Tesco Clubcard application will no longer be available, but you can still gather points with these alternative methods.

UPDATE: Unfortunately, the number of Boots Advantage Card points you can earn when making in-store purchases is being reduced.
