Nikki Haley refuses more presidential debates unless Trump participates

Nikki Haley

Nikki Haley announced that she will not be a part of any upcoming preliminary discussions, unless the leading contender, Donald Trump is present.

On Monday, the previous leader was declared the victor by a major margin in the Iowa Caucus - the initial test to determine the presidential nominee for 2024. Haley, on the other hand, came in third place in Iowa, garnering 19.1% of the total votes.

Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, criticized Haley for dodging questions that were difficult to answer in regards to her suspected involvement with airplane producer, Boeing, when she served as Governor in South Carolina.

DeSantis stated on X, which was previously known as Twitter, that the truth is that she is not competing to be the candidate for the nomination. She aims to become the Vice President of Trump instead. This announcement was made on Tuesday. DeSantis added that she will not disappoint New Hampshire voters in the same way that both Nikki Haley and Donald Trump did. She intends to fulfill her commitments. Moreover, she is excited to engage in a debate in the Granite State this week, even if it means debating two empty podiums.

The following discussion amongst GOP candidates is set to occur on Thursday, only a few days prior to the upcoming New Hampshire primary elections on January 23rd. According to recent polls, Haley is currently lagging behind Trump in this state, with certain surveys indicating a discrepancy of merely 7 points.
