Jeremy Clarkson, who used to be a presenter on Top Gear, has now gone further in expressing his fondness for rural areas by purchasing a racing horse.

Lovingly known as 'Pet', the tall 16.3 hand thoroughbred is much more than just a domesticated animal and will serve as the inaugural group-owned racehorse for Clarkson's Hawkstone Racing.

Named The Hawkstonian, a beautiful grey gelding is going to live with trainer Ben Pauling, who is currently having great success in the Cotswold area. This gorgeous horse will make his first appearance in a race either in late April or early October, at the beginning of the 2024/25 season.

In more casual English, Jeremy Clarkson shared that he had suggested to the Hawkstone team that they should try racing, but there seemed to be some confusion as they ended up pursuing motor racing instead of horse racing. Despite the mix-up, Clarkson knows that he can count on Ben Pauling, who is a neighbor of his Diddly Squat Farm, for his hay needs.

Additionally, our piece of land was once owned by the Pauling family who cultivated it and imparted their farming knowledge to Kaleb.

The boss of Old Gold Racing, Ed Seyfried, says that it's a privilege for their company to be supporting the first-ever Hawkstone Racing group. He adds that Jeremy, who has done a great job changing people's opinions about farming, will be joining the horse racing community this season and they are excited about it.

He went on to say, "Many car enthusiasts begin their tinkering journey with lawnmowers. However, this particular lawnmower has the ability to travel at a speed of 35mph for over three miles and can jump hedges. Can any other lawnmower beat that?"

Ben Pauling said: "I am excited to share my knowledge about horse racing with Jeremy and his Hawkstone members, and I am eager to see just how fast The Hawkstonian can go, maybe even as fast as the plug-in hybrid Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale!"
