According to Joe Cole, Ivan Toney has earned a spot as the reserve striker for England in the upcoming European Championship with his remarkable performance during Tuesday's friendly match against Belgium.

It is highly anticipated that Gareth Southgate, the manager of the Three Lions, will have to make a decision between Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa and Toney to fill the role of support striker for Harry Kane on the England team.

During the latest match at Wembley, where Jude Bellingham scored a late equalizer for the home team, the Brentford player demonstrated his impressive physical strength and ability to handle the ball, earning praise for his performance in his first-ever start for England.

After being banned for gambling, Toney made his comeback to Premier League football in January. Surprisingly, he has quickly regained his top performance.

There's an opportunity for a spot in England's team at a big tournament and Cole thinks that Toney's game against Belgium makes him a better option than Watkins.

Ivan Toney made a great impression during his debut for the England national team. He was able to score a goal in their match against Belgium on Tuesday.

A 28-year-old player scored his first goal for England by taking a penalty against Belgium.

Furthermore, while praising the promising young talent of Kobbie Mainoo from Manchester United, Cole expressed to Channel 4 that he would definitely consider selecting Mainoo and Toney for his own team.

In my opinion, what was really important tonight was for Toney to prove himself on such a significant platform. He needed to showcase his ability to hold the ball and contribute to the team.

"He's ready," the speaker said, "Harry Kane will definitely be playing. Unless he somehow loses both his arms and legs, he's ready to go. However, Ivan Tony also demonstrated that he has the ability to cope with the demands that come with playing for the English team."

Toney managed to equalize for England against Belgium by scoring a penalty kick from 12-yards away. He exhibited a composed performance by finishing the ball in the bottom corner.

Joe Cole, who played for England and Chelsea in the past, thinks that Toney deserves to be selected for the English national team.

Before being fouled in the penalty box by ex-Tottenham player Jan Vertonghen, Toney was aided by Mainoo with an assist.

The individual who is 28 years old has scored for the first time for England and has also achieved the accolade of becoming the first player to have scored a penalty during their first ever appearance for the Three Lions, since the year 1970 when Allan Clarke did the same at the World Cup held during that time.

Continuing to express admiration for Toney, Cole went on to say: 'Toney is the most chill individual at Wembley, a true expert when it comes to penalty kicks, and perhaps Gareth is taking this into consideration when choosing between Toney and Watkins.'

Toney has successfully scored 30 penalties throughout his career, and has only failed to score twice from the penalty spot. The only time he missed a penalty in the Premier League was when he played against Newcastle in April of last year.
