United are almost certain to be declared the winner after a thrilling triumph against Ayr United!

This afternoon, Jim Goodwin decided to alter two members of the DUFC team.

Jordan Tillson and Miller Thomson were substituted in for Liam Grimshaw and Ross Docherty in the team, as the captain suffered a slight injury. As a result, Tony Watt was appointed as the team's captain.

Some good news came up regarding the injuries as Declan Gallagher joined the team again for the first time after our match with Inverness CT which took place at the end of March.

Yesterday, PFA Scotland announced their Championship Team of the Year, featuring Scott McMann, Craig Sibbald, and Louis Moult who all began playing on the field. Additionally, our top scorer, number 9, is only one goal away from reaching a total of 20 goals this season.

In our matchday squad, we had the participation of seven graduates from the DUFC Academy.

In less than six minutes, Kai Fotheringham was the first player to spot a chance to score when he successfully received Tony Watt's flick-on. However, he missed the opportunity as his sudden shot went too high. Later on, at around 20 minutes into the game, he had another chance to score when Glenn Middleton managed to get past his opponent and delivered a cross. But unfortunately, Fotheringham missed the second chance by heading the ball wide.

Honestly speaking, there wasn't much else worth writing about by the time we reached the halfway point. Middleton appeared to be the most probable team to pose a threat - constantly outpacing Nick McAllister on our left-hand side.

During the most opportune moment of the first half, Sibbald and Moult displayed some clever teamwork that led to Sibbald advancing towards the goal. Unfortunately, his attempt to score was deflected just a bit to the left by Jack Sanders, missing the mark.

We had a few impressive plays that almost resulted in us taking the lead in the beginning of the second half.

Miller Thomson skillfully controlled the ball to evade Jamie Murphy's pressure. He made a pass that broke through the defense and reached Watt, who then passed it to Middleton inside the penalty area. Middleton received it and made a cutback, which initially seemed like it would create confusion but was saved from a missed grab by Josh Clarke. Finally, Sanders cleared it behind the goal.

In a pleasing turn of events, Moult skillfully passed the ball around the corner to Middleton, who then set Sibbald loose. Sibbald's precise pass was pursued by Moult, but Clarke was quick to collect it before he could reach it.

Scott Brown's team lost a player when McAllister got a red card for hitting Middleton with an elbow right before the 60-minute mark.

The guests got a bit angry when Harry McHugh received a warning after making a tackle with a slide that was somewhat late.

Middleton kept posing a hazard as he progressed toward the edge of the field and located Mopult, but unfortunately, he couldn't kick it right with his left foot. Shortly after, we responded by substituting Tillson for David Wotherspoon.

As soon as Fotheringham was substituted, Chris Mochrie scored a goal that secured the win for United. Wotherspoon made an excellent pass that Watt received and shot, resulting in a great save by Clarke. However, Mochrie was able to retrieve the ball and score from a short distance.

A chaos erupted as the game came to an end, leaving United with what looked like an insurmountable lead with only six points left to be played for.

Do you have any doubts about Chris Mochrie's performance? Well, think again! His outstanding display during the game has stunned the audience, and it's clear that he's a total champ.
