Anthony Joshua expressed his sympathy to Francis Ngannou, who recently disclosed the tragic news of his 15-month-old child's passing.

On Monday (29 April), Ngannou went on social media to tell his followers that his son Kobe had died on Saturday. He was grieving for his son who he called "my little boy, my mate, my partner".

Joshua, who fought against the previous UFC winner in March and emerged victorious by knockout, was among the individuals who left a remark on Ngannou's Instagram post, stating: "I hope the memories that you shared bring you solace."

During their match in Saudi Arabia, Joshua defeated Ngannou by a knockout in the second round. Despite his victory, the British boxer expressed admiration and showed respect for the 37-year-old Cameroonian even after the fight.

It's too early for him to leave, but he's already departed," wrote Ngannou on Monday. "Kobe, my precious friend, my companion, was always so lively and happy. Unfortunately, now he's lying there lifeless."

When I was with him, I felt like I was the best version of myself. But now that he's gone, I feel lost and unsure of who I am. It's unfair that life can hurt us in such a profound way. How do you cope with something like this? How do you even begin to live with it? If you have any suggestions, please share because I'm at a loss for what to do and how to handle this.

Conor McGregor expressed his condolences to Ngannou as well, stating, "I am deeply saddened to hear of your loss Francis. I am keeping you and your loved ones in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time."

Eric Nicksick, who is Ngannou's coach, expressed his deep sadness for the Ngannou family and emphasized that these past few days have been difficult. He also requested that people keep Francis and his family in their thoughts and hearts during this time. Eric emphasized the importance of cherishing your loved ones and demonstrating your affection. He reminded everyone that life is unpredictable and that tomorrow is not guaranteed. Therefore, it's critical to tell your loved ones how much you love them as frequently as possible.

Prior to his first boxing fight against Tyson Fury in October, Ngannou was the top dog in the UFC, holding the heavyweight championship title. He's known as the fiercest hitter in UFC's history and has plans to return to his mixed martial arts career with the Professional Fighters League. However, his fight with Fury in Riyadh ended in a debatable decision and marked his debut into boxing.
