American Riviera Orchard: The Subtle Messages From Meghan Markle’s Lifestyle Brand Launch

American Riviera Orchard

Meghan Markle has returned to the public eye. There were rumours in February when her and Prince Harry's website soft-launched its re-brand. Now, the former Duchess of Sussex has officially announced her return to the lifestyle scene with the launch of her brand, American Riviera Orchard.

The Instagram account for American Riviera Orchard simply has the name 'Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex' and 'Established 2024'. The brand has elegant branding that has a logo similar to the royal emblem with 'Montecito' written underneath it. This is the area where Meghan and Prince Harry moved to after they left their senior royal positions in 2020. They launched the brand with a video that has a sepia effect and is accompanied by Nancy Wilson's 'I Wish You Love'. Meghan is seen in the video moving around a kitchen with copper pans. The song is a subtle tribute to Prince Harry as it was the same song that was played at the end of the Netflix documentary 'Harry & Meghan', which was titled '(You Don't Know) How Glad I Am'.

Many people think that American Riviera Orchard got its name from the place Meghan Markle now lives in, Santa Barbara. This area is known as the 'American Riviera' because of its beautiful landscapes, pleasant weather, and excellent food and wine. Even though the brand was only introduced a day ago, it has already gained 329,000 followers on Instagram.

As reported by Page Six, American Riviera Orchard plans to center on topics related to the home, garden, food, and everyday living. Eventually, they also aim to expand into offering a range of homeware products such as recipe books, food products, and kitchen equipment. A recent filing for a trademark by the company also disclosed that they intend to provide an extensive selection of homeware products, including spreads and jams, as well as essentials like table linens, glassware, and cutlery.

According to a source, she has been dedicating over 12 months to this project. It encompasses everything she deeply cares about and all the things that ignite her enthusiasm.

Markle has previous experience in the lifestyle world. Before tying the knot with Prince Harry in 2018, the actress, formerly known for her role in Suits, had her own lifestyle blog called The Tig. The site was established in 2014, but was put on pause in 2017 when news of her and Prince Harry's relationship surfaced. Recent reports from 2022 mention that Markle has filed for a trademark for The Tig, leading many to believe she may be planning a comeback in the lifestyle arena.

Markle recently ended her working relationship with Spotify in 2023. She has now signed a new deal with Lemonada Media, a company founded by women. Her podcast, Archetypes, which used to be available on Spotify, will also be distributed by Lemonada Media.

Markle has expressed her delight in joining Lemonada’s team, stating that it has always been her passion to produce podcasts. She also mentioned that she feels ecstatic in supporting a company founded by a woman that is home to a variety of insightful and engaging podcasts. This is an excellent start to the year 2024 for her. The team is currently working on re-releasing Archetypes, which will provide more people the chance to access it. Moreover, they are also planning to release a new dynamic podcast. Markle can hardly wait to disclose these developments and feels grateful for the opportunity to join the Lemonada family.
