Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher have declared they are ending their marriage of 13 years.

On April 5th, the previous couple shared on their Instagram Stories that they have concluded to put an end to their relationship in 2023. They clarified that despite the challenging adjustment, their family will be their top priority.

The couple made a statement saying that, after a long time of being together, they have decided to end their marriage. It has been over 20 years since they first got married. They filed for divorce together in 2023. As a result, they will no longer be together as a couple.

They continued to say that privacy has always been important to them and they have been working on making changes quietly. They are committed to their children and appreciate people respecting their family's desire for privacy.

The couple started their romance after meeting at a party in Sydney, Australia back in 2001. Cohen shared his experience during an interview with the New York Times, saying he had a feeling right away that she was important to him.

The comedian, who is 52 years old, expressed that the woman was very funny. They happened to be at a gathering that had an air of superiority, but the two of them formed a connection through their mutual enjoyment of making fun of everyone else there. The comedian knew right away that he clicked with her, although he wasn't sure if she felt the same way.

In 2004, the couple got engaged and Fischer decided to follow Cohen's faith, Judaism. She officially converted in early 2007 and they tied the knot later. During an interview in 2009 with Metro, Fisher expressed her affection towards Judaism and how family is the center of it. They follow the traditional practises and celebrate the Jewish holidays. Being a part of this community brings Fischer immense joy.

Back in July 2007, Fisher made it known to the press that she was expecting a child whilst attending a screening for her film Hot Rod. She expressed her excitement at the prospect of becoming a mother and shared that she was thrilled about it. Fisher mentioned that she intended to indulge in motherhood and temporarily put acting on hold. Her future plans involved dedicating herself to doing things like colouring books for the coming years.

In October of that same year, they happily greeted their first baby girl named Olive. Following a long period of being engaged for six years, the couple finally got married on the 15th of March 2010. They then had two more children, a daughter, Elula, and a son, Montgomery.

The 48-year-old star of Wedding Crashers discussed with Marie Claire Australia in June 2021 how she and Cohen wanted to provide their three children with a "regular childhood".

"I love discussing motherhood, but it's a personal matter," she expressed. "In this age of social media, all parents are doing their best to shield their children. It's important to me that our kids experience a regular childhood, where they can freely roam outside without any unnecessary expectations or criticism."

She stated: "Every child has the entitlement to enjoy their childhood, and I would never promote any film or magazine by talking about my child."

The amusing ex-partners have openly shown their backing to each other on various occasions on the red carpet throughout the years, including award shows and movie premieres.
