Nigel Farage rules out standing in general election

The creator and honorary leader of Reform UK, Nigel Farage, has declared that he will not put himself forward for the upcoming parliamentary election.

Earlier today, there were rumors that Reform leader Richard Tice would announce the candidacy of a certain individual.

Beforehand, he stated that he had no intention of running for a seat in Westminster as a Member of Parliament for the eighth time due to the present first-past-the-post electoral system.

On X, the GB News host wrote a message expressing his willingness to assist the party during their campaign.

"However, at this moment, it is not appropriate for me to proceed beyond this point," he included.

Reform claims that it seeks to appeal to voters from both the Conservative and Labour parties, but recent by-elections reveal that the Tories are the ones who should be concerned about the party. Mr. Farage headed the party, known as the Brexit Party, from 2019 to 2021.

According to the newest survey results, Reform's popularity stands at an approximate 11%, surpassing that of the Liberal Democrats. In addition, Reform has declared their intention to have sufficient candidates to challenge for every constituency.

During the previous general election in 2019, the political party decided not to run in the electoral districts that were won by the Conservative Party in 2017.

At present, the party only holds a single MP, namely Lee Anderson, who made the decision to switch allegiance from the Conservative party.

While addressing the public, Mr. Farage expressed that he had pondered extensively on whether or not he should contest in the forthcoming parliamentary election.

I, being the esteemed president of Reform UK, fully endorse Richard Tice's leadership and implore voters to place their faith in both Tice and Lee Anderson.

I will contribute what I can to assist with the cause, but presently I am not in a position to take any additional steps.

The decision between the Labour and Conservative parties is not very exciting, and only the Reform party has the revolutionary plan that is necessary to put an end to the decline in our nation.

The Reform group has strongly criticized the Conservatives regarding their handling of immigration and achieving net zero.

After the election was declared, Mr Tice spoke and said that Reform was prepared for the election with "reasonable policies".

He stated that the Conservative Party has brought about destruction in Britain, and the public is aware of this fact. He also mentioned that Labour and its leader, Starmer, have a tendency to cause financial harm to the country.
