Oscars 2023: the red carpet – in pictures
Iranian film-maker Shohreh Aghdashloo is the only actor to politicise her red carpet look. Wearing a custom-made gown by Cristian Siriano, which he designed and stitched in three weeks, inside the cape read the words, ‘women life, freedom’ – “I knew I wanted to wear something that would include the slogan of Iran’s freedom fighters” said the actress

Tár star Cate Blanchett wore a turquoise velvet draped blouse with a black mermaid skirt, both vintage, both by Louis Vuitton.
