Ninja: Twitch's biggest gamer shares cancer diagnosis

American Twitch star Tyler "Ninja" Blevins recently disclosed that he has been diagnosed with melanoma, a type of skin cancer.

On X's blog, the individual who plays Fortnite and is currently 32 years old mentioned that they have 19 million followers on Twitch. They shared that a mole on their foot was taken out and it was found to be cancerous.

Ninja mentioned that his foot has another dark spot which is under examination. He felt surprised but thankful to have the chance of curing cancer at an early stage.

He is encouraging people to schedule routine examinations.

Ever since Ninja returned to Twitch in 2020, he has been strongly associated with the platform. Prior to this, he had a brief period with Microsoft's competitor streaming platform Mixer, which came to an end in June of the same year.

He is so well-liked on Fortnite that gamers have the option to spend money in order to dress their avatars to resemble him.

Due to his widespread fame in the streaming world, he has been invited to make appearances on popular TV shows like The Masked Singer US.

On X, Ninja made a statement stating that he discovered he had cancer when he went to see a skin specialist for his yearly mole examination.

He mentioned that there was a mole situated on the underside of his foot which required removing for safety measures.

The diagnosis turned out to be melanoma, however the medical professionals are hopeful that we detected it during the initial phases.

As per the information mentioned on the NHS webpage, melanoma refers to a type of skin reproductive system that might disseminate to other body organs. Generally, it occurs due to the sun's ultraviolet rays affecting the skin.

The article suggests that individuals take precautions when spending time in the sun, such as applying sunscreen and refreshing it frequently.

Individuals who are at higher risk of developing melanoma are those with fair skin, a significant amount of moles, and a family history of skin cancer.

The principal approach to cure cancer is through surgery, yet chemotherapy may be employed for situations where the cancer has disseminated.
