On Tuesday night, Arsenal proved their worth with a strong performance against Chelsea. However, Manchester City has now made their own statement with a win at the Amex. A few controversial decisions may have gone in their favor, but City played exceptionally and deserved the victory. Phil Foden scored two goals, Julian Alvarez broke his dry spell, and Kevin De Bruyne scored an incredible diving header. As usual, the champions are getting into their stride and proving dominant in the league. Arsenal should keep an eye on their rearview mirrors, as City's win may cause concern.

Man City Victorious: Brighton 0-4

The victorious team narrowed the distance between them and the current frontrunners, Arsenal, in a very impressive manner!

In 90 minutes plus four extra minutes added, Alvarez passed the ball to Doku, who then made his way to the box on the left. Doku positioned himself well and attempted a sidefoot shot to score towards the far corner of the goal, but unfortunately, Steele came in with a timely kick to prevent it from happening. If five goals had been scored against Brighton, it would have been quite unfair for them.

After playing for 90 minutes, plus an extra three minutes, Barco still impresses with his skills on the left side. He made a cross aimed towards O'Mahony in the middle, which caused Ake to head the ball behind for a corner kick. Despite the attempt, the opposing team managed to clear the corner. The young 19-year-old Argentinian had a busy and notable performance throughout the evening.

After 90 minutes of play, plus an additional minute, Ake caused Joao Pedro to commit a foul near the middle of the field resulting in a free kick. The sound of the referee's whistle was met with a sarcastic applause from the Brighton fans. They strongly believed that the referee, Jarred Gillett, had been unfair to them throughout the game.

After the full 90-minute game, the referee has decided to include an additional five minutes of play.

At the 89th minute, Igor committed a foul on Doku out of frustration. If it happened earlier in the game, he could have received a yellow card. However, if it happened in the earlier parts of the game, Igor probably wouldn't have been as frustrated and made the foul.

As the 88th minute approaches, several supporters of Brighton have opted to leave early before the game officially ends. At this moment, the song "Blue Moon" can be heard dominating the atmosphere at the Amex stadium.

In the 87th minute, City passes the ball around their defensive area, possibly to waste time until the game ends.

After 85 minutes of play, Joao Pedro passed the ball to Igor who ran down the left side and into open space. Meanwhile, Joao Pedro continued towards the goal box. Igor cut back and made a good pass to Joao Pedro who unfortunately missed a shot from six yards, which went wide left of the net. It was a great play that ended with a disappointing result. Writer Charles Antaki thinks that City has most likely won the game with a score of four-nil, but there are still five more matches to go. Arsenal could potentially change the outcome of the game if they can pit Manchester City against some of the greatest soccer teams in history: Brazil 1970, Holland 1988, Barcelona 1992 and 2010, as well as a random Stoke City team. In this way, the game would become more balanced, and the outcome would still be anyone's guess.

After 83 minutes of the game, Igor and Barco worked together to steal the ball from Doku. Barco then made a great pass to Adingra, but unfortunately, Adingra was not able to control the ball at the penalty spot. De Zerbi, the coach of the team, praised Barco for his efforts throughout the game. Despite making a mistake in the first half, Barco kept pushing hard and made some impressive plays on the offensive side of the field.

After 81 minutes, it seems like City is slowly moving towards the end of the game. It feels like both teams are ready to end it and declare a draw or respective wins.

After 79 minutes, Rodri was replaced with Doku. Joe Pearson expressed his disappointment with the match, stating that it's frustrating when a team with superior skills also receives favorable calls from the referees. He referred to a particular instance where a non-penalty call was made, which he found ridiculous but not surprising. Pearson ended his comment with a sigh.

After 78 minutes, the City team decided to make three substitutions. They swapped Silva for Lewis and Walker for Gomez. Walker took his time walking across the field to give Ake the captain's armband.

After 76 minutes of the game, Baleba was shown a yellow card for intentionally pulling on Nunes's shirt, who had skillfully turned away from him.

In 75 minutes, Welbeck makes a move from the right and takes a shot that goes high over the bar. This will be his final involvement in the game tonight as he is substituted for the 19-year-old striker, Mark O'Mahony, who is making his debut.

In the 73rd minute, Grealish and Nunes substituted Foden and De Bruyne.

After waiting for 72 minutes, VAR reviewed and upheld the initial ruling that Gvardiol did indeed make contact with a player's back. Joao Pedro fell to the ground dramatically, but there was still contact made to his ankle that confirms it was a penalty. Roberto De Zerbi responded calmly on the sidelines with a raised eyebrow, while Brighton fans were more direct, accusing the officials of poor performance.

In 70 minutes into the game, Offiah had an impressive run down the right side, successfully passing three players. After that, Joao Pedro took control and dashed into the opposing team's penalty area, but he was tripped by Gvardiol. Despite that being an obvious penalty, the referee did not seem interested in calling it.

After 68 minutes of play, Rodri made an unusual mistake by passing the ball incorrectly. Adingra had the option to pass the ball to Joao Pedro, who was open on his left. However, City's defense was quick to respond, making the pass ineffective. Unfortunately, Joao Pedro lost his balance and fell over.

In 66 minutes of the game, Foden was pushed by Van Hecke causing him to stumble. Unfortunately, Van Hecke accidentally hit the back of Foden's head while falling. He immediately apologized by extending his hand, but Foden remained unhappy. The game continued without interruption.

After 64 minutes of play, Manchester City is only eight goals behind the top team, Arsenal. This could potentially have an impact on the final standings of the season. As part of their effort to close this gap, Welbeck passes the ball to Adingra who is making a run down the right side. However, Gvardiol manages to come in and block the shot. The ball ends up bouncing off the Brighton player and goes out of bounds for a goal kick.

Manchester City Dominates Brighton With 4-0 Victory

Ederson sends a long ball forward and Walker dashes down the channel towards the right, without Brighton realizing it. He controls the ball using his chest and gets past Barco, who is trying to track back. Walker intends to take a shot, but he mishandles the ball and loses control. Steele tries to grab the ball, but Walker rushes in and slides, causing the ball to move to the left. Alvarez receives the ball, shoots and scores in the bottom left corner of the goal without any defense stopping him.

In just one hour of playtime, Alvarez attempted to score a breathtaking goal by aiming at the top right area of the net from the far left side of the Brighton box. It was an incredibly close shot, but unfortunately, the ball cleared the bar by only a few inches, denying him the goal.

After 59 minutes, Foden passed the ball to Alvarez who was running through the center of the field with some space. When Alvarez kicked the ball towards the goal, Steele, the goalkeeper, managed to stop the ball but had a bit of difficulty in holding onto it properly. Nonetheless, he succeeded in doing so before any other player could take the advantage and score a goal.

After 57 minutes of play, Adingra kicked the ball across the field towards the right side of the goal. However, it accidentally hit Ake's arm, which was raised but still close to his body. Brighton expressed their desire for a penalty, but the referee was not convinced. The subsequent corner kick did not lead to any results.

After 56 minutes, Igor took over as left-back instead of Barco, who was making his debut at the age of 19. Moder was also substituted in place of Barco. As a result, Barco was positioned further up the field.

After 55 minutes, the city is dominating in an unexciting way. And, Richard Hirst responded to one of our correspondents during halftime. He expressed his confusion about why people have a negative attitude towards success and professionalism. Although he is not a fan of Manchester City, he believes that Guardiola is a brilliant coach who has set a high standard that some people are struggling to accept.

In 54 minutes, Barco goes towards the middle from the left and passes the ball to Joao Pedro, who forcefully makes his way into the penalty area and gets ready to shoot. However, Ederson rushes out of his goal to stop the shot and steer the ball away from potential harm.

In just 52 minutes into the game, Adingra committed a foul against Alvarez on the left side. Foden then swiftly takes a powerful free-kick and Joao Pedro barely manages to clear the ball with a toe-poke, resulting in a corner for City with Rodri ready to pounce. However, Rodri's header from the corner kick lacks any real impact. It seems that City is now determined to score more goals, hoping to slowly close the gap in goal difference against Arsenal.

At the 51st minute, Moder makes a clearance that hits Rodri nearby. The ball bounces erratically towards Steele's direction, but Brighton fans need not worry as it ends up going far from the goal and results in a corner kick.

It took 49 minutes for Rodri to slightly pull on Gross's arm, causing the midfielder to fall over. Alan Smith, the co-commentator on Sky, believes that it should have been a penalty. The Brighton supporters are furious, especially after the previous incident where Foden slipped and was awarded a free-kick, resulting in the second goal.

After 47 minutes of the match, VAR inspected the alleged tug on Gross's arm and determined that it did not reach the required level of severity. While the incident may have seemed minor, some referees may have still deemed it worthy of a penalty. The situation remains unclear to everyone.

Within 46 minutes into the game, Adingra was quick to get involved in the action by chasing after a long pass down the right. However, the linesman signaled for offside. Brighton did not give up and continued with their attack. Gross made a dribble into the box from the left when Rordi grabbed his right arm, which resulted in Gross falling over. Gross called for a penalty, but the referee wasn't interested in the foul.

Brighton starts the second half with two substitutions. Offiah and Adingra are on the pitch, replacing Veltman and Lallana, who was not very active in the first half. Julian Menz shares his thoughts and says he has never lived in Liverpool but has spent some time in Finsbury Park. He thinks the atmosphere there is probably quite gloomy because Arsenal Tavern has changed its name, and he doesn't know why. Manchester City is performing as expected and will take advantage of any mistakes made by Arsenal or Liverpool.

It's time for the mid-game mail. According to Dave Smith, Brighton should look within themselves and strive to embody the spirit of Coventry.

I'm curious about how many individuals will feel the absence of Guardiola when he departs from the club. In my opinion, not many will miss him and quite a few will be pleased to see him leave. It will be intriguing to see which league he will dominate next. - Mr. Tumble

When it comes to relaxing after a workout, I've already cracked open my third can of inexpensive beer. I had consumed multiple powerful ales and even some whiskey while celebrating Dundee United's upcoming return to the top league last Saturday. See if you can handle that, Russ Cook.

Manchester City Leads Brighton 3-0 At Half Time

The City team is smoothly securing their position in second place. Currently, this is how the ranking looks.

In the 45th minute plus three, Foden rushed down the left side and tried to pass to Alvarez in the center, who could have easily scored. However, Moder prevented this by sliding in and hooking behind for a corner. Although the flag was raised for offside, if the goal had gone through, VAR may have reconsidered this decision due to Foden appearing to have started his run from his own half. Even though it was a close call, it doesn't matter now as the goal was not scored.

At 45 minutes plus 1, Walker sprints down the right side with all his energy. However, Barco, who is making his full debut, does a good job of stopping him and making him change direction. This should give Barco some encouragement as he had a difficult first half.

In 45 minutes of play, De Bruyne made a strong dribble down the inside-right channel and managed to enter the box. He attempted a quick shot but it was blocked and ended up going wide right. Foden took control of the ball and Alvarez tried to score with a curling shot towards the top right corner, but it was also blocked. The first half will have an additional three minutes of play.

After 43 minutes, the only ones making noise in the stadium were the supporters of City. There was not much excitement in the air as the outcome of Brighton's defeat was already certain. A few fans sarcastically cheered and whistled as Pep Guardiola failed to successfully handle a ball that dropped into his designated area.

After 41 minutes, Veltman made a pass that covered a long distance. Ederson quickly came out of his goal area and kicked the ball forcefully back. This reminded us of the styles commonly seen in football matches from the 1980s.

After 39 minutes of the game, Dunk made an effort to pass the ball accurately to Welbeck through the inside-right channel. Even though the move was good, the striker jumped slightly early resulting in an offside decision by the referee. Gary Naylor wrote a comment asking Scott whether it resembled more of Houchen's or van Persie's techniques, he could be correct about the resemblance with van Persie.
