Daniel Fairbrother halted at Big Ben to ask for someone's hand in marriage while carrying a bulky fridge named Tallulah that weighed 26 kilograms (57 pounds) on his back.

A man named Mr. Fairbrother, who lives in Stevenage, took an electronic device with him while running the 26.2-mile (42km) route around London. He did this to gather £10,000 to donate to Diabetes UK.

He stated to the BBC that it had been a difficult day, and the only thing that helped him get through it was the knowledge that Hayley was at Big Ben, unaware that he planned to propose to her.

He expressed doubt about whether Hayley would be able to come and watch, as she had been sick and stayed in the hospital all night.

I had been preparing for this event for some time, and just before it happened, I had doubts about whether it would succeed or not. However, it ended up being a great success and made the day even better.

The cops halted Mr Fairbrother's marathon preparation in Stevenage, assuming he was a burglar.

When asked by the BBC, Hayley expressed her astonishment and mentioned that she was "struggling to believe it."

As he rushed towards me at mile 25, my emotions were already overwhelming. With just a little way left to go, it was clear he was pushing himself to the limit. And then, unexpectedly, he knelt down on one knee. I was at a loss for words.

She teased that at the wedding, Tallulah would have a designated seat all to herself.
