She shared that her previous agent, whom she had worked with for a long time, decided to retire early to take care of her mother. This resulted in her needing to find a new agent. However, she had a difficult time because it seemed like no one was interested in representing her.

Despite receiving nominations for the Golden Globe, there was no interest in a woman who was over 50 years old.

In her explanation of how she managed to regain her spot in the acting industry, Richardson shared, "With the help of my new agent, we searched for any available opportunities, even by taking on smaller roles. For example, I appeared in The Sandman and played the character of Mrs. Bolton, a northern housekeeper, in Lady Chatterley. Through these small opportunities, we were able to get noticed and considered for bigger roles, which eventually came my way."
