Gogglebox's George Gilbey, 40, dies after fall from height

The famous TV personality George Gilbey passed away due to a work-related accident involving a fall.

The Essex Police reported that they received a call regarding a man who had fallen while working at a high altitude on a road located in Shoebury, near Southend-on-Sea.

The individual who was 40 years of age passed away at the location.

Gilbey appeared in eight seasons of Channel 4's Gogglebox program and also participated in Celebrity Big Brother, which aired on Channel 5.

The official X account of C4 Gogglebox posted a message stating that George, accompanied by his mother Linda and stepfather Pete, was a member of the Gogglebox family for eight seasons.

We are extending our heartfelt sympathies and profound condolences to Linda, along with George's loved ones and acquaintances during this sorrowful moment.

In 2021, his stepfather Peter McGarry passed away at the age of 71.

Gilbey was among the initial participants showcased on the reality television program Gogglebox, making appearances from 2013 up until 2018.

In the year 2014, this individual made an appearance on the reality TV show called Celebrity Big Brother that airs non-stop, day and night. Their performance on the show resulted in them securing the fourth position.

Ricci Guarnaccio, a former cast member of Geordie Shore and Celebrity Big Brother participant with Mr Gilbey, wrote a message on X, a social media platform formerly known as Twitter. He expressed his sadness on Mr Gilbey's departure, saying "You will be deeply missed my friend."

My brother was a true ray of sunshine, always brightening up any space he entered. He had a genuine heart for others, and the moments we shared together will remain precious to me for a lifetime.

He mentioned that they had a conversation with each other the previous week.

On Instagram, Daniella Westbrook, who is known for her role in EastEnders, posted a picture of Gilbey and expressed her deep sadness with the message: "My dearest friend George, I am completely devastated."

At around 10:00 GMT, Essex Police received a report of an accident on Campfield Road. According to the authorities, a man who was working at a height fell and got injured.

According to a representative of the police department, they will keep communicating with collaborators such as the Heath and Safety Executive.

A barrier is still set up at the location.

A medical helicopter was also present.
