According to the television network, ITV News host Rageh Omaar has become "unwell" during a live broadcast and is currently receiving medical attention.

Omaar, who is 56 years old, was hosting News At Ten last Friday and seemed to be having difficulty reading the news updates. He stumbled over some words, which caused worry among those who saw it online.

ITV cancelled the show that was supposed to be aired again on ITV+1, informing the audience that the channel was not able to offer its "+1 service" for a short period of time.

Later on, a representative from ITV News made a statement acknowledging that viewers have expressed worry regarding the health of Rageh Omaar.

Rageh's health worsened while he was hosting the News at Ten program on Friday and he is currently under medical attention.

He expresses gratitude to all those who have conveyed their good wishes.

Additional information was not disclosed and it remains uncertain as to what Omaar was experiencing while the broadcast was airing.

As an international affairs editor for ITV, Omaar is responsible for covering significant news stories. He's also the host of the current affairs program On Assignment.

Before, he worked as a high-ranking overseas journalist for the BBC and gained fame for his coverage of the Iraq invasion in 2003.
