They opted to utilize Prabhsimran Singh as their Impact Player instead of Arshdeep Singh, and this move proved to be advantageous. The initial batsman effectively dominated the KKR bowlers, effortlessly achieving boundaries and sixes.

The team playing at their own turf decided to replace Mitchell Starc, an Australian left-arm pacer, with Dushmantha Chameera, a Sri Lankan speedy bowler. However, they were unable to make an impact as Prabhsimran and Bairstow teamed up for a 93-run partnership for their opening wicket.

Before being dismissed by Sunil Narine's direct throw, Prabhsimran played the starring role with a score of 54, including 4 fours and 5 sixes.

During the demolition process, the one who suffered the most was Anukul Roy. KKR had signed him as an Impact Player (replacing Venkatesh Iyer), as he is a left-arm spinner. In just two overs, he ended up conceding 36 runs, since Bairstow took it upon himself to completely destroy the KKR bowling unit.

In 45 balls, the batter from England completed his century with lightning speed. He teamed up with Prabhsimran for the opening, and then joined forces with Rilee Rossouw to put together a partnership of 85 runs for the second wicket. Finally, the English batter wrapped up the innings by partnering with Shashank Singh to score an unbroken 84 runs. Shashank Singh also played a brilliant innings, remaining unbeaten at 68 off just 28 balls. He hit two boundaries and a whopping eight sixes.

Beforehand, Knight Riders relied on the aggression of their opening batsmen Phil Salt and Sunil Narine to achieve a total of 261 runs in 20 overs. Salt was the highest scorer for KKR, making 75 runs off 37 balls with 6 fours and 6 sixes, while Narine contributed 71 runs off 32 balls with 9 fours and 4 sixes.
