The young musician, who is 22 years old and writes her own songs, has not been romantically linked to anyone publicly since announcing her break-up with Jesse Rutherford, a 32-year-old indie musician, in May 2023. During a recent interview, Eilish expressed her strong distaste for dating and said she finds it to be a frightening experience.

Ghosting refers to abruptly ending communication with a romantic interest or friend without prior notification. Eilish expressed astonishment upon discovering that individuals actually carry out this heartless act, as it happened to her.

On a unique installment of the Miss Me? podcast hosted by Lily Allen and Miquita Oliver, Eilish tackled queries from listeners about ghosts. This compelled her to share a surprising romantic encounter.

"I've definitely been ghosted," she declared when talking about the incident that occurred in December, which she found "truly incredible."

She never received any text from him till now. She wondered if something had happened to him, like maybe he had passed away.

"I had known this person for a long time and we had made plans over the phone to meet at my place at 3pm. However, on the day of the planned meeting, the person never showed up, nor did they bother to inform me about their absence. I was utterly shocked and couldn't wrap my head around what had happened."

After delivering her song "Lunch," she admitted that she eventually discovered the man she had been interested in was already in a relationship. Her reaction was like "oh." She was shocked to learn that people still engage in this behavior, as she genuinely thought that it was no longer common.

Wow, that guy is such a weak and sad individual. He's just so small in every way possible.

In another part of the interview, the vocalist disclosed that she had no more companions when she became famous after dropping her initial album titled When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? This happened when Eilish was merely 17 years old.

She stated that she lost all her friends once she became famous, excluding just one. Zoe, who has been her friend since they were toddlers, is still her close confidant.

"She was practically the only one who stayed around. I became famous all of a sudden and couldn't connect with anyone. It was a difficult and challenging experience."

After the tour, Oliver enquired if she attempted to contact those individuals only to discover that they were not available on the phone.

Eilish gave a response, stating that she attempted something but couldn't shake the feeling of resentment. She felt unsure, as she was very young at the time. Eilish then went on to share a realization that she had during her 20th birthday, where she recognized that her supposed "friends" were actually her employees.

"I can recall glancing around the chamber and beholding solely those whom I had hired," she recounted. "Furthermore, they were all at least a decade and a half my senior. And then, surprisingly, one of my closest confidantes, who labored by my side, resigned. We had no prior altercation and they just cut off communication completely. It was the most terrible ordeal I had encountered."
