SRH vs MI IPL 2024: Abhishek Sharma hits fastest fifty by Sunrisers Hyderabad batter, breaks Travis Head’s record in the same match

During Wednesday's match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians in Hyderabad, Abhishek Sharma managed to score a fifty in just 16 balls.

Abhishek managed to surpass Travis Head's record by scoring a half century in even less time during the same match. Travis had previously achieved this feat in 18 balls, breaking David Warner's record of 20 balls against the Chennai Super Kings back in 2015.

In 2017, Warner achieved another remarkable feat by scoring a half-century off just 20 balls during a match against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Moises Henriques, a player from Australia, managed to score 50 runs in just 20 balls during the IPL 2015 match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

In his first game of the season, Head did a great job and led SRH to scoring 81 runs while only losing one wicket in the PowerPlay. His performance was so good that he managed to achieve the sixth-fastest fifty in all IPL seasons.

In the eighth over, Head's head finally drooped onto Gerald Coetzee as he successfully scored 64 runs in just 24 deliveries.

Abhishek's thunderous performance was interrupted by Piyush Chawla in the 11th over. Abhishek made 63 runs from only 23 balls, hitting seven maximums in the process.

In the match against MI in 2024, Abhishek Sharma played an impressive innings in just 16 balls.

Travis Head scored runs in just 18 balls in a match against the Mumbai Indians in 2024.
