Abby Hensel, one of the conjoined twins who appeared on the reality television program Abby & Brittany, has secretly tied the knot with Josh Bowling, a former soldier, according to recent reports.

Today has obtained public records that reveal that Abby and Bowling got married in the year 2021. Abby and Brittany are fifth-grade teachers residing in Minnesota, while Bowling is a nurse and former member of the United States Army.

The Hensel's profile picture on Facebook shows them at their wedding. They both wore a white lacy dress because they are conjoined twins. The groom, Bowling, wore a grey suit and a white button-down shirt during the ceremony.

Bowling posted several pictures with the conjoined twins on different occasions on his Facebook account. Among them are photos of them snow tubing and hiking together. Besides, Bowling mentioned in his biography that he's a proud father.

Abby and Brittany Hensel are a duo of conjoined twins that have an uncommon condition known as dicephalus. This means that they are joined side by side and share the same pelvis. It's worth noting that each one has their own brain, heart, and other vital organs. However, from the waist down, they share all their organs and bloodstream. Abby wields dominion over the right arm and leg, whereas Brittany controls the left arm and leg.

The siblings, born in 1990, initially told their story to the public in 1996 when they made an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show. They then went on to feature in their own television show on TLC called Abby & Brittany in 2012. The program depicted their experiences beyond their graduation from Bethel College in Minnesota up to the time they were getting ready for a teaching position in Europe.

During the first episode of the series, as stated by ABC News, the twins declared that people have always found us intriguing since our birth, which is quite understandable. However, our parents did not allow us to take advantage of that situation. They instilled in us the belief that we can accomplish anything we desire.

During the reality program, they also discussed how they work together to manage daily tasks, such as preparing for a celebration or buying food from their household supplies.

Abby stated that when it comes to making choices, it involves making mutual concessions. She explained that they both alternate and aim to come to a point where each of them is content with the outcome, finding a satisfactory balance.

In 2001, Mike and Patty, the parents of the conjoined twins, were interviewed by Time magazine and asked about their daughters' prospects of getting married in the future. During the interview, Mike mentioned that his daughters had enquired about finding future partners. Mike also added that he saw no reason why his daughters could not marry, considering that other conjoined twins had tied the knot before.

He commented, "The girls are attractive and clever. They possess all the desirable traits, but the only issue is that they are in a relationship with each other." He halted briefly before concluding with this statement.

Mike shared that he and his spouse rejected the notion of separating the twins during their birth as medical professionals informed them that the likelihood of both Abby and Brittany surviving the operation was minimal. "How would you choose between them?" he expressed.

For over 10 years since Abby & Brittany first debuted, the joined siblings have mostly kept their private affairs away from the public eye.

The Independent has reached out to Abby and Brittany to hear their thoughts.
