Sophie Kinsella, the writer, has disclosed that she has been diagnosed with a severe type of brain cancer.

Madeline Sophie Wickham, who is 54 years old, is most famous for her creation of the Shopaholic novels.

The writer made a declaration on her Facebook page stating that she had received top-notch attention from medical professionals.

She mentioned that she's currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments, and they're not yet finished.

She informed her supporters that she had been diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive type of brain cancer, towards the end of 2022.

I didn't reveal this earlier because I wanted to ensure that my kids could hear and comprehend the information without any disturbance and adjust to the new way of life.

The magnificent team at University College Hospital in London has been looking after me and I have undergone a victorious operation. Moreover, I am currently receiving ongoing radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

According to Kinsella, she is currently stable and doing fine overall. However, she frequently experiences fatigue and humorously remarked that her memory has worsened from what it used to be.

I feel immense appreciation towards my dear family and close companions for being an immense source of support throughout my journey. Additionally, my gratitude extends towards the fantastic healthcare professionals, including the doctors and nurses who have tended to my needs.

In conclusion, she expressed her heartfelt love and sincere well wishes to all those who are currently battling cancer.

Kinsella's latest literary work, called The Burnout, was released to the public in October of 2023.

She has written other books such as Can You Keep A Secret? and The Undomestic Goddess.

The initial couple of books in her Shopaholic sequence, which consists of eight novels in total, were transformed into the movie Confessions of a Shopaholic, which featured Isla Fisher in 2009.

Fisher left a comment on the Instagram post of Kinsella, expressing a message of affection and positive energy by saying, "I am sending you an abundance of love and a wish for your healing."

Kinsella is married to Henry Wickham and they have a total of five children; four boys and one girl.

The books written by Kinsella have been purchased by over 45 million people in over 60 different countries. They have also been translated into over 40 different languages.
